The AutoPacker is designed for use in mid to large volume prescription laboratories. After the job-identification, the lenses are unloaded from the job tray and centered. An envelope type is chosen from the magazine out of eighteen different envelope types, the lens is inserted in the envelope, and a label is printed and applied to the flap of the envelope which seals the envelope shut. Before loading the packaged lens into its original job tray a check is made to ensure the envelope is not empty.The machine is also capable of packing cut lenses. The 600 lenses per hour capacity and the completely automatic cycle which avoids any mispackaging, coupled with our years of experience in the field of packaging RX glasses are proof of its value. This machine is best utilized after the Automatic Control and Inking Unit.

The Dual LensMapper, integrated in this unit, gives a mapping of the prescription lens (freeform or conventional) and calculates FOA optical power at the reference points (FV, NV). For the freeforms, it compares the expected design to the real lens and displays an error map. A Go/NoGo decision is made, based on the error map and the list of criteria defined by the lab. Because the A&R AutoMapper is task specific, and the system has a small footprint, you can easily integrate it into the lab, either directly after the surfacing or in the final control (also suitable for checking the cut lenses). The ProMapper is the A&R table-top solution to provide state-of-the-art optical inspection according to the industry standards (ISO/ANSI), totally independent from the operator. In addition, it supplies freeform surface evaluation based on the A&R Error Map technology, making sure that no surface defect is shipped to the customer. Based on the Error Map, surface quality features like the GMC (Global Mapping Criteria) are evaluated and constitute extremely relevant inspection data for process control applications (Statistical Process Control).

The Control Unit for Prescription Lenses is a machine dedicated to prescription labs producing at least 1000 jobs per day. This multi-functional automatic machine is the only one on the market to combine the lens inspection according to the ISO/ANSI standards of all lens types, the mapping of freeform lenses, the flexible digital inking and the laser engraving. The measurement data exported by the machine are very useful for an effective process control. The AutoInker is the ideal inking solution for the prescription labs producing at least 500 jobs/day. The PPOS integrated in the machine detects the µ-engravings of the progressive lenses (any shape, even cut lenses). The position of the lens is taken into account for the digital inking operation. Because the A&R AutoInker is task specific, and the system has a small footprint, you can easily integrate it into the lab, either directly in the final control or after edging (inking of cut lenses). The AutoBlocker is for use in laboratories that edge and mount lenses into frames. All kind of lenses can be oriented and blocked according to the ink marks or the µ-engravings. Because the A&R AutoBlocker is task specific, and the system has a small footprint, you can easily integrate it into the lab. The control unit for single vision semi-finished lenses (MCSFU) is the perfect tool for the free-form laboratories. With a capactity of more than 360 lenses an hour, the MCSFU detects any picking, supply or data error. It measures, accurately and contactless, the radius of the front curve of the single vision semi-finished lenses. The measured data are directly transmitted to the LMS (Lab Management System) software so that the measured data can be taken into account for the calculation.

Identification & Inking Unit for semi-finished lenses (type MITSF) The new concept of MITSF machine is designed to identify and print progressive and multifocalsemi-finished lenses. The PPOS system, integrated in the unit, detects the μ-engravings or the upper segment line and identifies the semi-finished by reading the identification code (check of product code, Addition, base, eye, logo at the edge or under the μ-engravings) by Optical Character Recognition. The inspected lenses are then inked by a robot, permitting a large flexibility in image choice (10 plates – 20 images). The data of this machine can be transmitted to the automatic packaging unit, eliminating any product mispack.

The Automatic Packaging Unit for Semi-Finished Lenses is dedicated to large scale packaging requirements of progressive semi-finished lenses. It packages 720 lenses per hour by choosing the correct plastic cup and box type out of ten cup choices and five box types. After being correctly matched to cup and box, the lens is packaged and sorted into 24 double magazines of 15 packaged lenses each, according to several different criteria that is operator set. Through the use of this machine with the Fully Automatic Pad Printing Unit for Semi – Finished Lenses, complete control and packaging is obtained with almost no operator intervention. By adding several options of diameter, center thickness, and curvature measurements, the machine can be used for packaging single vision and multifocal semi-finished lenses.

The Control & Packaging Unit for Stock Lenses is best utilized by large volume single vision lens manufacturers. This machine will inspect and package 900 lenses per hour with such accuracy that there are no errors such as sending out of tolerance lenses out, or rejecting in tolerance lenses. In addition, the automatic cycle prevents any mispackaging of product.
