Biological Indicators

Steam, Ethylene Oxide, Plasma Biological Indicators

Description

Biological indicators are test systems containing viable microorganisms providing a defined resistance to a specific sterilization process. A biological indicator provides information on whether necessary conditions were met to kill a specified number of microorganisms for a given sterilization process, providing a level of confidence in the process. Biological indicators, depending on the specific type, can be used for various sterilization processes using steam, hydrogen peroxide gas or ethylene oxide. We have the following 4A Biological Indicator types: 4A Steam Biological Indicator (3h) is specifically designed for the monitoring steam sterilization processes at 121 – 134 °C. The final readout of a processed biological indicator with respect to the indicator type should be made after 3 hours (4ARSBI) or 24h (4ASBI) of incubation at 60+/- 2 °C. 4A Ethylene Oxide Biological Indicator (4AEOBI) is specifically designed for the monitoring of ethylene oxide (EO) sterilization processes.
