Commode de Louis XV du château de Fontainebleau, Commode Médaillier A French Louis XV style gilt-ormolu-mounted and veneer parquetry inlaid commode a vantaux after the model Commode Médaillier designed by the Slodtz brothers and executed by Antoine Gaudreaux, circa 1890, with a serpentine veined marble top above a pair of doors each centered by an oval medallion with mythological figures, within a foliate and ribbon-tied surround marvelously chiseled, the sides with an oval medallion, on scrolled ram-headed ormolu sabots cabriole legs. The original precious commode-médaillier was designed and created in 1739 for the king's use in Louis XV's Cabinet à Pans at Versailles. It is now in the Cabinet des Médailles at the Bibliothèque Nationale. Ref#1B33 188 x 100 x 65 cm
