They are small in size, pearshaped, with a smooth skin which is the color of light hazelnut, they have an orange pulp, which is soft and sweet, and their seeds are located in the lower part. They are very versatile and can be prepared in many different ways, they can be served as sweet or savory, and everything can be consumed, the pulp, the skin and the seeds. They are very nutritious, they are a good source of vitamin A and C, betacarotenes, minerals such as magnesium, potassium and calcium, they are also rich in fiber. Due to their nutritional composition, they have the following properties antioxidant; offer cardiovascular protection; regulate the nervous system; have antiinflammatory action; protect macular health; and regulate the intestinal transit. Although they look sturdy, they should be handled with care, as they can decompose quickly if the skin is damaged.
