Description

VCI 8003 is the safest VCI chemistry available for both workers and the environment. Its components are included on the FDA’s list of materials approved for contact with food, CFR 21 and they are widely used in body care products. VCI 8003 is supplied as a transparent, color-free masterbatch that can be added to other masterbatch resins or can be mixed with other additives like colorants, UV protection, Anti-static, Anti block, among others. The compatability with other additives in combination with VCI 8003 must be tested in advance. Applying VCI 8003 can be added to LDPE/LLDPE/MDPE and HDPE mixtures at a ratio of 4 % to the total finished weight for films of 60-120 microns. It is an advantage to produce coextruded film with VCI 8003 added only to the inner layer, since the dosage can then be reduced (as an example, for 100 microns film, VCI 8003 can be applied at 8% to the inner layer of 40 microns).
