Carl Schmidt Sohn AG – tradition since 1829. Carl Schmidt was a qualified blacksmith when he founded CARL SCHMIDT SOHN together with his son in 1829. Its close proximity to the city of Cologne is virtually perfect for its extensive bulk production and distribution because Cologne is currently one of the largest and most prosperous trading centres in Germany. This meant that products from CARL SCHMIDT SOHN travelled all around the world from the beginning. Cutting tools from Solingen would soon be considered as hallmarks of the best quality and workmanship. What's more, it achieved this reputation at a time when it took a lot of time for news to spread.
