Our business started in the 1910’s, when immigrants Emilio Alonso and his son Leonardo came from Galicia to Buenos Aires. At first, wools were hand scoured and dried in the sun. The business started to grow and the first scouring plant was built in Avellaneda, Buenos Aires. The business expanded to Uruguay before the break of WWII, when a new plant was built in Paso Molino.By the year 1950, the first hydraulic press was imported to Uruguay from Neustadt an der Haardt, Germany. The Government expropriated the lands in Paso Molino and a new scouring plant was built by the year 1959.Since 1986 the factory is located in Soca, Canelones. We run a family business with five generations of dedication, providing scouring and baling services, as well as exporting wool to meet our customer’s needs.
