Description
Our fine copy of the marvelous Louis XV cylinder Bureau Du Roi, "The King Desk", the most celebrated piece of eighteenth-century French furniture after the model by Jean-François Oeben and Jean-Henri Riesener, manufactured of solid beech wood, different veneer and marquetry inlays and fine cast gilt ormolu mounts, The desk is produced with beautiful marquetry patterns representing trophies, musical instruments and flower bouquet in different styles, opens cylindrical to a vast area for stationary with various cubby holes, drawers and slots with a writing sliding panel. The desk is ornamented with ormolu foliage works, figures, miniatures, female busts, urns, cherubs and ormolu plaque of putti to the back, raised on cabriole legs with acanthus-cast sabots.
