Axon' has developed picocoax® a complete range of miniature coaxial cables and harnesses for applications where a large number of signals have to be transmitted with no interference. They can be used for measurement equipment and medical devices. Picocoax miniature coaxial cables offer a good compromise between small diameter (for example 0.20 mm) and capacitance of 50 to 100 pF/m. Picocoax® miniature coaxial cables are made with silver plated copper alloy conductor and high performance dielectric materials including FEP or Celloflon (porous PTFE patented by Axon'). Axon' also offers multipicocoax made with bundles of 18 to 304 picocoax cables. These composite cables are very flexible.

Axojump® Flat Flexible Cables (FFC) consist of flat tin or gold plated copper conductors laminated between polyester insulating films with reinforced ends. They are compatible with ZIF or LIF (Zero/Low Insertion Force) connectors. FFC are offered with various pitches including 0.30, 0.50, 0.80, 1.00, 1.25, 1.27 and 2.54 mm. Different types of insulation tapes depending on the requested temperature and flexibility are proposed. Different types of stripping and reinforcement tapes, dependent on the connection type can be manufactured. FDC-Flat Display Connections, axolink® consist of flat flexible cables and connectors. They have been designed for connections of flat displays including HD screens. A special range of Axolink® has also been developed for connecting full HD displays with LVDS (Low Voltage Differential Signal). These miniature connections are made with 0.50 mm, 1.00 mm and 1.25 mm pitch flat flexible cables. They can be terminated with connectors such as DF-9, DF-19, FI-SE or FI-X at one or both ends.

FDC100® Flat Display Connections or LVDS FFC are Flat Flexible Cables which are aimed at connecting HD displays with the LVDS electrical signaling system. LVDS FFC are made with a 100 Ohm shielded flat flexible cable and connectors compatible with board-mount FI-R connectors. Axon' also offers ultra high speed flat flexible cables compliant with the V-by-One® HS protocol.

Bulk flat flexible cables flexlink® are made with flat conductors insulated with polyester film for any application where space reduction and flexibility are the most important criteria. Bulk flat flexible cables are compatible with the most commonly used crimp contacts. They are flexible and allows for space saving. They are made with 1.27 mm and 2.54 mm pitch flat copper conductors insulated with polyester films. They can be used in consumer electronics (printers, computers, …), automotive (switch rotary connectors, headliners, door panels, …)

Low width flexible flat cables, Picoline®, are made with flat copper conductors insulated with a polyester tape. They have been designed for airbag rotary connectors used to release the driver’s airbag housed under the steering wheel. They have the following advantages: reduced friction due to round external profile, less noise in the cassette. They can be punched to facilitate positioning Picoline® can be overmoulded. Picoline® low width flexible flat cables are mainly used for automotive applications.

Axostrip® is a range of flat cables with round pins which can be soldered or inserted to achieve board to board interconnections. They are made with tin plated copper conductors insulated with polyester or polyimide. These Round-end Flat Cables (RFC) are characterized by their high resistance to bending and vibration. Their insertion is fast and easy.

Axon’ offers extruded flat cables with round conductors for any application requiring space reduction and temperature resistance. The round conductors are insulated with FEP or ETFE. These ribbon cables are characterized with their temperature resistance : -90°C to + 155°C for ETFE, -90°C to +155°C for ETFE insulated flat cables. They are highly resistant to abrasion and traction and have an excellent flexlife.They are available in 1.27 mm and 2.54 mm pitches.

Flextrack® is a range of high flex flat cables for the automation and robotics industry. They meet the most demanding applications requiring tens of millions of flex cycles. They are designed for high flex applications including Pick and Place industries. Their flat configuration allows for space saving compared to a round cable. Flextrack® laminated flat cables are lightweight and flexible. They resist to high temperatures, repeated flexions and chemical products.

Vibraflame® is a range of cables designed to resist extreme temperatures ranging from -196°C to +1565°C.These fire resistant range of cables do not propagate flame and do not contain asbestos. They can be used as control, coaxial or power feed cables. Axon’ offer extension and compensating cables for thermocouples insulated with vibraflame® material and resistant to temperatures of up to 1050°C. These heat resistant cables can be made with nickel plated copper, nickel alloy, nickel chrome, iron, constantan, copper alloy, cupronickel for extension and compensating cable. They are insulated with a special combination of mica, organic polymers and fibre glass. Applications include power and control cables in steel works, oil refinery, electric furnace, blast furnace,etc
