Aluminum-Clad Steel Wire is used in products that require high corrosion resistance, such as CRGW (corrosion resistant ground wire) OPGW (optical ground wire) and others. Cladding – is the method of applying a thin protective layer of aluminum on the surface of the steel wire, when due to a large compressive force occurs cold metal weld. The main feature of this method is the interdiffusion of molecules of two metals without heating to a depth of 5 microns. Diffusion occurs at high pressure inside a chamber where extruding aluminum is fed plastic heated to a temperature of 400C. Aluminum is heated only by the friction and the characteristic deformation.
