The logistics company undertakes to deliver goods from/ to “anywhere in the world”. In this case, “intermodal transport” is often used, i.e. systems of cargo delivery through several state borders by several types of transport using a single transportation document. The participation of the cargo owner in this process is limited only to the contract with the logistics company. The logistics company is engaged in the customs clearance of customers’ goods, and also accepts the goods of customers for safe custody in its warehouse (warehouses). The logistics company provides consolidation (accumulation), completion, packaging, quality inspection, labeling, invoicing, recording and other services. The logistics company also provides its customers with information about their cargo, regardless of whether it is on route or in the warehouse (where the load is located, what happens to it, etc..).

International transportation means the transportation of goods, which is carried out at least between two states in accordance with the conditions provided for by interstate agreements. Types of international transportation include international road, rail, air, river, and sea transportation, intermodal transports. Transit, intermodal, container and combined transport have certain specificity.

Container transportation is carried out by various types of transport, including water (river and sea transportation), land (road and rail transportation) and even air (air transportation, both ISO containers and specialized ULD can be transported). Advantages: ISO containers used around the world have ISO sizes, which allow creating a specialized transport for their transportation (container ships), as well as for loading and unloading (for example, reach-stacker). There is no need to create containers for any single batch of goods, as well as its fixation on the vehicle, which significantly saves timber, fasteners (nails) and other material resources. Possibility of intermodal transportation: the container can be immediately reloaded by crane from one mode of transport to another (for example, from car to wagon).

Groupage is the transportation of small-sized cargoes of various customers in one direction in one vehicle. Scheme of transportation of groupage cargoes 1. Transportation of single-piece cargo from the sender’s warehouse to the consolidation warehouse for batch completing. 2. Cargo handling in a consolidation warehouse, which may include additional packaging, the use of containers, etc. 3. Customs clearance and preparation of other documents for transportation. 4. Shipment of groupage cargo to the country of destination by road, water, rail or air transport. 5. Customs clearance in the country of destination, as well as drawing up of documents required for the subsequent sale of goods or use of equipment. 6. Delivery of single-piece cargo to the specified address.
