The formula was optimised until Besthane®Soft provided the desired characteristics: exceptionally high operational comfort, a high level of floor surface preservation, low-noise operation and a particularly high dynamic load capacity. This series is also abrasion-resistant, oil-resistant and flexible at low temperatures. The casted tread is used with either an aluminium or nylon wheel centre. The nylon version is also hydrolysis resistant.

Besthane® treads have 40% lower rolling and swivel resistance than the other polyurethane treads. This means that much less force is required to push or pull transport units carrying heavy loads. It also makes the series particularly interesting for customers focused on ergonomics and occupational safety. Besthane® tread also provides a particularly high level of dynamic load resistance, which is particularly useful when transporting sensitive materials. The tread is typically used for a variety of heavy duty applications on different transport units and machines in the machining and automotive industry. It can provide a load capacity of up to 12,000 kg at high speeds of up to 16 km/h.

Nylon wheels are frequently used for industrial applications, particularly in areas where hygiene is important, such as the food industry. Nylon is resistant to a wide range of aggressive substances, has good rolling properties on smooth floors and is available in a variety of versions and dimensions. The white version is very popular as it makes dirt and dust easy to see. The material is not particularly suitable for applications involving high temperatures or uneven surfaces.

Polypropylene wheels are used in a wide range of industrial settings. The white PPN version is frequently used for applications with demanding hygiene requirements, such as the food industry or pharmaceutical industry. The wheels can be cleaned using a variety of agents as they are resistant to a wide range of aggressive substances. The black PP version is also electrically conductive.

In addition to wheels and castors, Blickle’s extensive catalogue also includes tyres and press-on bands. The press-on bands are manufactured using Blickle’s own Blickle Besthane® or Blickle Extrathane® polyurethane treads. They are also available with super-elastic solid rubber tyres or an elastic solid rubber tread. Tyres use a steel-wire reinforced rubber core to connect to the rim, while press-on bands are fitted with either a steel insert or a steel band.

Blickle cast iron wheels are made from robust grey cast iron with a hardness of 180 to 220 HB. They are extremely wear-resistant and provide very little rolling and swivel resistance. Cast iron wheels are self-lubricating due to the graphite which they contain. However, they should always be sufficiently lubricated using the grease nipple, particularly when using the plain bore version. Due to the relatively high level of floor pressure, care must be taken when using this wheel series on sensitive surfaces. The silver coating on the wheels can change colour at high temperatures, but this does not affect the corrosion protection provided by the coating. Standard cast iron wheels are designed for use in temperatures of up to 120°C.

The SVS wheel series is primarily used for heavy duty applications requiring extremely high load capacities of up to 15,000 kg. They are typically used in machine and systems engineering. Their resistance to a wide range of aggressive substances also makes them suitable for use in applications which require resistance to chipping and oil. Despite their exceptional load capacities, only minimal effort is required on smooth surfaces to move transport units with SVS castors. The rugged grey cast iron series is extremely wear-resistant and is also capable of withstanding temperatures of between -25°C and 120°C.

For the majority of standard castors, either the tread or the steel bracket is not designed for frequent contact with water or high levels of air humidity or steam. Blickle stainless steel castors, on the other hand, provide corrosion protection in every area, including the high-quality chromium-nickel steel bracket, the synthetic wheel centre, a selection of treads made from rubber, thermoplastic polyurethane and nylon and the various bearings used. This is relevant for wet areas and environments with strict hygiene requirements, such as the food industry.

Electrically conductive wheels and antistatic wheels and castors are used in almost every industrial setting, from medical engineering, electrical and semi-conductor industries to the automotive industry, hospitals, pharmaceuticals and other chemical industrial sectors. These wheels and castors are used everywhere protection against electrostatic discharge is required. Operators and sensitive goods are particularly susceptible to the electrostatic discharge that can be generated by transport units or by transported goods.

Heat-resistant wheels and castors are used in a variety of areas, from the food industry to medical engineering and other industrial applications. Requirements for these wheels and castors are equally diverse: in addition to withstanding high temperatures, they also need to meet hygiene requirements, resist corrosion and support heavy loads. Blickle has eight different wheel series in its standard range to cover these applications. These include series with specialised, highly heat resistant solid rubber and a pressed steel or synthetic rim. Wheel series made of nylon, phenolic resin and cast iron round out the range of heat-resistant wheel series. Temperature resistance ranges from -200°C up to +600°C, depending on the wheel series.
