Description
There are many different processes for forming screw threads. The usual method is to machine the thread but threads can also be formed with a thread moulder. The reason is that if the thread is shaped by plastic deformation rather than by cutting, no material is lost. However, thread moulding can only be used on materials with good cold formability.
