In buildings, perlite is used in plasters, cement finishes, and ceiling coverings as well as to ensure heat and noise insulation between floors. It is lightweight and thus reduces death risk in earthquakes to a great extent by decreasing the load of building. As it is an inorganic material, it does not lose its properties and it is fire resistant preventing the distribution of heat during a fire. Use in construction sector: a) Perlite plasters b) Light insulation concrete with perlite aggregates (with cement and plaster bound) c) Light structural elements with perlite aggregates d) Other light structural elements
