Temperature Sensor with ceramic isolation The temperature sensors of the TF Series are ideal for exact temperature measurements in highly sensitive medias. The ceramic insulation guarantees a direct reading of the melt temperature. Any influences by the flange or tool temperature are reduced to a minimum. The ceramic encases the measuring element and isolates it from the surrounding area. The design of the TF conforms to the recommended guide lines of the Plastics and Rubber trade association according to EUROMAP 31.

The MRS extruder processes undried PET bottle flake without any pre-treatment directly into pellets. The polymer melt is intensively and rapidly exchanged in the multiple screw section of the extruder. The huge surface area is exchanged at an unparalleled rate so that even with a moderate vacuum level of 25 to 40 mbar in the degassing section, contaminants are efficiently evaporated out of the melt. A letter of Non Objection (LNO) from the FDA underlines the decontamination efficiency. If, in order to boost the intrinsic viscosity (IV) a downstream solid state polymerisation system (SSP) is used, this can be specified far shorter than otherwise necessary as the extruder has already carried out the decontamination of the bottle flakes. The end product is of especially high quality with regard to transparency and yellowness.

With the IV booster JUMP, the IV value of the melt can be lifted to the required level for a given application. Within the JUMP reactor, the polymer passes over several slow turning elements which create a polymer film, the surface of which is constantly renewed. The reactor vessel is kept under vacuum, through which ethylene glycol and other volatile substances are reliably removed. The JUMP process is an extremely efficient alternative to a Solid State Polymerisation (SSP) as there is no energy needed to cool the polymer down and then reheat it
