Gold Electrowinning Cell

Description

The Electrowinning cell consists of nine anode assemblies on either side of cathode compartments, all contained in a polypropylene tank. The cathodes are housed in a polypropylene insulation frame and are constructed from stainless steel rod baskets filled with stainless steel mesh. The abodes are constructed from stainless steel strips. The cathodes and anodes are positioned alternately within the cell. The gold containing electrolyte solution is pumped into the cell at one end and flows through all of the electrodes prior to exiting the cell via the overflow weir at the opposite end. Solution bypassing is minimised in the design resulting in the optimisation of throughput efficiency. The hinged hood has a locking facility to increase the security associated with the cathode sludge.
