Heinen fire-resistant doors have been designed to meet your needs in exceptional dimensions, while still meeting the requirements in terms of intensive use and mechanical resistance. For example, a Heinen double door, EI1-60, can easily compartmentalise an opening of 4.40 x 4.40 m! Heinen has always been a pioneer in fire-resistant compartmentalisation. As early as 1973, the brand attracted attention by perfecting the world’s first metal fire-resistant door! Since 2010, Heinen doors have been validated according to European standards by no fewer than 30 official fire tests. The pace of developments and the intensive activity in the R&D department even prompted the company to purchase its own furnace that meets European standards in order to carry out pre-tests. All Heinen external fire doors for pedestrians are CE marked according to the new European standards EN 16034 (fire doors) and EN 14351-1 (external pedestrian doors)

In 80% of cases, the perpetrators first attack the door of the place to be burgled. So the door is the main element to be secured in the outer shell of the building. Generally speaking, and whatever type of compartmentalisation is involved (burglary resistant door, fire resistant door, acoustic door, etc.) the openings into the building are the weak point. Talking about ‘burglary resistant’ is not entirely correct. It would be more accurate to refer to ‘burglary retardant’. In fact, the means implemented (tools of attack) to force access to the protected zone are always seen in relation to the period of time available to the assailant and his level of experience.

Heinen develops fire resistant doors for a wide range of fields. Many of our products are tested to European standards based on the ISO 834 standard temperature/time curve which takes into account the rising temperature of a “standard” fire in order to define fire resistance (e.g. EI1 30, EI1 60, EI1 120…). However, some doors need resistance for more specific situations where tests using the ISO 834 standard curve are not sufficient. In particular this is the case for tunnel doors where the requirements have been strengthened since the early 2000s. Requirements have also been stepped up to guarantee maximum resistance in specific situations where the temperature of a fire climbs far more quickly.Heinen’s tunnel doors or HCM doors have met the requirements of the maximum level, i.e. level N3: HCM120 / CN240. They are available as single or double doors. Symmetrical or asymmetrical HCM fireproof.

An anti-panic door must always be able to be opened in an emergency by those present in a building. This functionality is taken into account in particular in the regulations relating to the risks of fire (fire-resistance performance feature) and panic. In fact, emergency exits are usually located along evacuation routes and it must be possible to open them quickly and easily in the direction of the evacuation. These ’emergency exit’ doors are usually used in buildings open to the public (ERP) or public places, but also in workplaces. Our main customers for these doors include the retail sector, theatres, concert halls and cinemas, hospitals, industry, offices, etc. Depending on the place where they are installed, emergency exits will also include other performance features: fire resistance, burglary resistance, bullet-proof, soundproof insulation, etc. Heinen has a great deal of experience in the field of anti-panic devices, in particular thanks to the many tested

Heinen doors are the preferred option for acoustics specialists owing to their impressive acoustic test results (up to -55 dB!). Confidentiality, respect for privacy and working conditions are all elements which now require an environment where sound pollution must be limited. The aim is to improve the corporate image, reduce the incidence of work-related illness and make the workplace more attractive. This is why Heinen has deployed its skills for the benefit of its customers such as leisure centres, telecommunications companies, theatres, industrial companies, test centres, etc. Our customers want real soundproof doors that are easy to use and look good at the same time. This is what Heinen had in mind when it developed its famous soundproof doors: 7cm thick, ultra-thin or collapsible doorsills to enable heavy traffic to pass through easily and comfortably. In addition, Heinen took care to ensure that the acoustic properties of its doors can be combined

Heinen swing doors are constructed on the basis of the METAL+ concept so that they always look the same regardless of the ‘safety/security’ performance features available. All the doors are made to measure as regards: the many performance features available the finishes the fittings and accessories and the dimensions. Which dimensions are best for swing doors? At Heinen, we have decided to standardise the dimensions of the most popular doors in order to offer solutions that make economic sense. The table below gives the ‘Type 1’ dimensions which are our most competitive range. The price of the door will remain the same for all sizes in the ‘Type 1’ category. Which high-level performance features are available for swing doors? In terms of the performance levels available, single hung doors can go as far as: 180 min. for fire resistance (EN 1634-1 EI2) RC5 for burglary resistance (EN 1627-1630) 55 dB for soundproofing (EN ISO 717-1)

The double swingdoor has the same characteristics as the single door. Double swing doors can, of course, fill far bigger openings. They are also made to measure, but as with the single doors, standard dimension ranges (height and width) enable us to offer attractive prices. The table below, available for downloading, relates to “Type 1”, the most cost-effective solution, and the dimensional limits of the range of double doors. Arranging the order of the door leaf closure for the double door Double doors can be provided with a door closer on the service leaf or on each leaf. In the latter case, a closure selector is fitted to ensure that the leaves close in the right order (first the fixed leaf and then the mobile leaf) to avoid collisions or blockages. How far do the double door performance levels go? The performance levels on double hung doors can reach 180 min. for fire resistance (EN 1634-1 EI2) RC5 for burglary resistance (EN 1627-1630) 53 dB for soundproofing (EN ISO 717-1)

A double door with no priority direction of opening looks identical to double hung doors from the outside, except that it has a rounded joint between the two leaves. These two leaves are identical in construction and this joint makes it possible to open either leaf independently of the other, whereas with conventional double doors one of the two leaves is always fixed. When is a double door with no priority direction of opening required? Double doors with no priority direction of opening are frequently used in busy places such as car parks, railway stations, schools, building corridors, etc. They offer an attractive ‘frequency of use’ performance and great mechanical resistance.Door frame and leaf finish Hot-dip galvanised steel Hinges Two steel hinges, adjustable and replaceable Rounded-edge joint So that each leaf can be opened without priorityDimensions Always made to measure Handle / pull handle Fixed doorknob or pull handle on the hinge side.
