Our aluminum coated fiber are available for both operating windows in ultraviolett and visible/near infrared wavelength ranges. In addition, heracle offers a solarisation resistant version for ultraviolett region. The fiber features a wide operating temperature range from cryogenic up to 400° C and makes it ideal for Aircraft, missile, rocket, turbine & jet engine monitoring. The aluminum layer offers a hermetic coating. The fiber can be sterialized. Termination can be directly soldered for vacuum feedthroughs & laser diode pigtailing. Its radiation resistancy, low outgassing and resistancy to organic solvents allow for operation in radiation, caustic & corrosive environments.

heracle offers germanium doped fused silica graded index multimode fibers needed for data communication at the optical wavelengths 850 nm and/or 1300 nm. The metalized optical fiber is supplied with either 24 kt Gold or Aluminum coatings. As an electric conductor, these types of coatings provide the user with the ability to terminate the fiber directly onto the coating, supporting hermetically sealed assemblies. Gold and Aluminum coated fibers are capable of withstanding extreme temperatures and harsh environments. The manufacturing process utilized in the production of these fibers result in low stress corrosion susceptibility, and thus offering improved mechanical protection to the optical fiber when used in the most challenging harsh environments. All metal coated graded index fibers are 100 % quality tested to Heracle‘s stringent test procedures in accordance with the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA/EIA) and international Fiber Optic Test Procedures (FOTP).

The featured Singlemode (SM 9/125) metal coated fiber operates in both, 1310 nm and 1550 nm wavelength ranges, according to G.652 A/B standards. The fiber is supplied with either 24 kt Gold or Aluminum coatings. Gold and Aluminum coated fibers are most capable of withstanding high temperatures and harsh environments compared to conventional coated fibers. All metal coated Singlemode fibers are 100 % quality tested to Heracle‘s stringent test procedures in accordance TIA/EIA and international Fiber Optic Test Procedures (FOTP). Based on proven experience with the realisation of past successful projects MPS has designed and characterised a scalable Theta/Phi fiber positioner for Multi-Object Spectrographs. The positioner has been designed with the purpose of adapting readily to the requirements of any Multi-Object Spectrograph, which requires precise positioning of optical fibers. Whether MOONS, FPS, MEGARA, or DESI, each project has so far developed its own fiber positioner from scratch, with all of the risks and long lead times linked to such a complete new development. The positioner presented here intends to significantly reduce the development time, costs, and eliminate unforeseen risks. The design is easily scalable in size, length, and shape. The positioner size starts at a diameter of 9.5mm and is scalable to fit any customer specific requirements. It is capable of reaching any target within 5 µm with just two correction moves.
