HISPANO VEMA

Within HEMUS 2020 Exhibition (Plovdiv, Bulgaria), the Bulgaria-Spain Bilateral Meeting was held. In addition to the official delegations of the respective Ministries of Defense and Economy, the Bilateral had the participation of some of the most relevant companies of the Defense Industry from both Spain and Bulgaria. At this time, the Armament Policy Directorate (Bulgaria) and the DGAM (Spain) selected a group of companies from the defense sector of both countries with the aim of making a presentation of the main capabilities that the Defense Industry of Bulgaria and Spain can provide the Armed Forces, as well as promote the exchange of knowledge and relations between defense companies of both countries. During his presentation, the Director of Business Development of Hispano Vema, Mr. Rafael Arruga, reviewed current main challenges & hot topics which Specialist CBRN Units have to manage in any Hazmat incident both in the military and civil perspective

With a deployment of 2,500 troops over 98 days, the Spanish Armed Forces has carried out more than 20,000 interventions ( nursing homes, health centers, critical infrastructures, etc.) distributed throughout Spain (more than 2,300 populations) to fight against the COVID19 pandemic. In the case of disinfection of enclosed spaces, the Army has used not only portable disinfection equipment, but also CBRN Decontamination Apparatus These are equipment commonly used for Immediate Decontamination by First Response and Emergency Teams in CBRN incidents, and which in this case were adapted to disinfection tasks using disinfectant products instead of decontamination agents. Hispano Vema is especially proud that its ATM10 CBRN Decontamination Apparatus, were present in CBRN Decontamination Capabilities equipment on a large number of units of the Spain Armed Forces, has been used so intensively and profusely in a multitude of interventions throughout Spain to combat the COVID19 pandemic.

Outstanding deployment of Chemical Warfare Department's CBRN Decontamination Capabilities in the operation to disinfect Cairo in the fight against the spread of COVID19 pandemic. Within the anti-COVID19 protocols developed by WHO, by supranational organizations (European Union, etc.) and by the Governments of all the countries of the world, the disinfection of public places has been a fundamental piece in the battle against COVID19.In this operation, the Chemical Warfare Department used Mobile CBRN Decontamination Station on truck (PDPOL). This CBRN decontamination system is an example of state-of-the-art technology in CBRN decontamination (chemical, biological and radiological agents).

Organized by the Ministry of Defense of Spain, through OFICAEX of DGAM (Directorate General of Armament and Material). Industry Day was the forum in which Spanish Defence Industry showed their capabilities to the participating countries in the EURETEX 2018 organized by the Eurocorps . EURETEX as bi-annual exercise is used by Eurocorps to continue improving and strengthening the interoperability of the armed forces of its member countries. Spanish Army, through MALE (Army Logistics Support Command) and the General Armaments Directorate (DGAM) through General Sub-Directorate for Technological Planning & Innovation with the collaboration of the CDTI (Center for the Industrial Technological Development) (belonging to the Ministry of Science and Innovation) organize Workshop 9 FORCE 2035 CBRN Defense. A multi-hazard scenario without precedent in Spain, in which the UME used some of the Hispano Vema rapid deployment solutions for emergencies. Annually the Military Emergency Unit (UME) organizes a Joint-Combined Exercise (JEC) as part of its preparation to run Operational Direction of an Emergency of National Interest in Spain. In this year 2018, in its eighth edition, the Joint Combined Exercise was carried out in the region of Murcia, between April 23 and 27, under the name of "ECC Region of Murcia 2018", and had the outstanding presence of the Chief of Defense Staff (JEMAD), Army General D. Prestigious economic newspaper El Economista publishes an article about Hispano Vema´s international business. El Economista is one of the main references of the economic press in Spain, being second economic newspaper by diffusion (in its paper version) and the first economic web portal of Spain according to Alexa Internet ranking.
