Black Unsintered Extruded PTFE Film is engineered with a carbon based PTFE filler to enhance conductivity and facilitate the dissipation of static electricity. It can be used for shielding high temperature wires and cables, wall construction of convoluted hose or when carbon black offers color advantages over other black pigments. Physical properties and conductivity are maximized after sintering. It is a glass fibre tape covered with a thick layer of red silicone rubber which provides the tape with a high level of heat insulation. It is a very flexible tape, which is suitable for protecting hoses and electric cables by means of bandaging without having to disassemble or disconnect the parts to be covered. It offers continuous protection at operating temperatures of 250°C and can withstand splashes of molten metal up to 1200°C. It is resistant to most oils and fuels, hydraulic fluids, acids and alkalis.
