Positively and negatively engraved steel cylinders create a conjoining cylinder set which allows the material web to be shaped or formed. The method is used in situations where the use of a paper counter-cylinder is not useful or even impossible. We offer our conjoining cylinder sets in soft, nitrated or deep-hardened designs.

The possible applications of paper bowls for the embossing technology are manifold: It either gets the "worn-in" relief of the embossing cylinder, it is used as a smooth cylinder for pressing, or it is used for calendering. At our 1200 square metre-large production hall, we use the latest technology to manufacture paper bowls with a maximum length of 2400 mm at 3400 mm total length and, depending on the particular requirements, with or without swell. Next, the paper bowls are finished on a special rotating machine.

We manufacture your print template using the latest image processing systems at the highest technical level. The data that is collected is digitized and prepared for further machining in the direct engraving. At our modern design studio we take your finished designs and turn them into professional results. This involves using the latest laser technology to capture all of the fine details. Separation The image data is divided into the separate colours and then stored accordingly. Digital proofs for quality control With high-quality plotters we provide true-colour proofs in any length and at a width of 1.2 meters. Production clearance for engraving Using on the proofs you approve the simulated result created by your printing cylinder. Sample engraving Using our technique for small-scale sample engravings we are able show you the finished structure on the final material.

Printing and coating cylinders in galvanic plating process are coated with hard or soft copper before engraving. After engraving, all cylinders receive a chrome layer. To achieve the same chrome quality not only in the base of the small bowl but on the ridges as well, we use the high-tech pulse rectifier method. It is our standard to realise each and every job with absolute perfection. For this reason, we perform a final quality check. Even in the case of regularly recurring orders, the correct standard is of course always retested. Each order includes the necessary accompanying documents along with the cylinder. These documents detail the individual processing steps and important operations. On request we will provide you a log of the work performed. The quality check entails the following steps: Inspection of the embossing using a sample from the cylinder Determination of the profile depth: Depth of the grid and the width of the web are measured with the latest technology. Final inspection of the cylinder for true-running and intact surface Proof: Print result of the cylinder is inspected on the proof press.
