La Fontaine des Demoiselles

The fragrance reveals generous notes of plum, black currant, cherry and cocoa. A powerful attack of flavor brings the nuances of prunes and licorice to the aftertaste. The medium body of the wine is in harmony with the medium-plus acidity and medium- high tannins. Dishes of raw or dried beef accompanied by berry sauces will be an excellent combination for this wine.

It is intense ruby red with violet reflections in its youth: the aromas are intense and varied, centered on fruity, floral and spicy notes with a slight vegetal hint. The taste is intense, velvety and savory, with an elegant structure with compound and fine quality tannins. The warm alcoholic note supports the softness and conveys the sensations towards a perfect taste-olfactory correspondence. The finish is persistent and closes with hints of fruit and spices.

The Campora of Falchini comes from the Campora vineyard at Casale in San Gimignano, province of Siena; it is a Rosso Toscano IGT produced almost entirely from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes harvested with care. Once fermented, it passes into small French oak barrels to age for about 2 or more years, gaining thickness, structure and elegance. It rests in the bottle in our cellars for the same amount of time, becoming a wine of great harmony, elegance and considerable complexity with an extraordinary longevity. The Campora, Rosso Toscano IGT produced in San Gimignano by Casale Falchini, is a wine suitable also for long aging, around 15 or 20 years. Among the organoleptic characteristics are an intense and deep ruby red color which stands out, an ample and yet fine perfume with notes of mature ripe blackberries, hints of vanilla and cooked plums. The flavor is intense, soft, warm, with a great complexity and harmony.

The estate is located in Le Puy-Sainte-Réparade, locality « Clôs du Blanc », facing north and 2690 feet above sea level. Our vines grow on a variety of land, plains, valleys and hills, so they can fully express the potential of this unique soil. Our vineyard offers a large range of typically provençal vine types : Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, Cinsault, Cabernet Sauvignon, white Ugni and Vermentino. An ancient and very fine lot of Syrah overhangs the estate to the north-west : 0,65 acresplanted way back in 1947. This lot is historical in the vineyard as well as in Provence, since very few lots were planted with this type of vines before 1950. Brilliant idea of a brilliant mind ? Experiment of a passionate ? The question will remain unanswered. Two lots of Grenache and Syrah, planted on hillside more than 985 feet above sea level, give us a great vue on the Luberon hills, the medieval castle of Le Puy Sainte Réparade and the Sainte Victoire mountain.
