Description
Lotions are emulsions or suspensions based on water or alcohol. Unlike creams, lotions contain oil instead of fat, are therefore more fluid than creams and easier to apply to the skin. Usually, lotions contain little or no alcohol, which makes them attractive even for sensitive skin. Lotions are used to treat, care for or cleanse the skin. They contain light care substances such as almond oil, aloe vera, herbal or fruit extracts which make the skin soft and smooth. The advantage of a lotion over a cream is that the skin can still breathe when applying the lotion. Lotions are available in a variety of versions for all skin types and areas.
