Description: Oleic acid is a monounsaturated fatty acid. It belongs to the group of omega-9 unsaturated fatty acids. It is oily, odorless, colorless liquid, lighter than water. It is insoluble in water, but soluble in organic solvents. Scope of application: Oil and gas, tool making, textile industries; analytical practice. Oleic acid and its esters are used as plasticizers for the production of paints and coatings. It is used in soap making, oleic acid and its salts are widely used as emulsifiers.
