Pressalit was established in 1954. Today, Pressalit A/S is one of the leading European manufacturers of toilet seats and specialised bathroom solutions for people with disabilities. Pressalit manufactures approximately 1.5 million toilet seats annually. About 120 different models of toilet seats have been made over the years. The export's share has grown to approx. 80 percent. Pressalit subsidiaries are established in Germany, the United Kingdom, France and the USA. Pressalit products are sold in more than 50 countries. Besides Denmark, Germany, Holland, Belgium, France, Sweden, Norway and the UK are the biggest markets. The European market accounts for three quarters of Pressalit sales abroad. Pressalit A/S includes two business areas - Pressalit Seats, which also includes the product brand Saniscan, and Pressalit Care – dealing with development, manufacture and marketing of products for primarily bathroom design.
