SÃO VICENTE CAVES

This half day trip takes you to the Northern part of the Island in a beautiful Vine Village you find the remarkable natural caves of Madeira where a guided thirty five minute tour takes down into a Lava Tube surrounded by stunning rock formation small pools of water where the wine dealers use to cool down their bottles. This tour is only available in english and portuguese. After the cave tour a visit to the geological centre of Madeira where more information is provided and at the end we show a movie on this island was formed. A visit to the village to see the old chapel and a stop in quinta grande to see the amazing viewpoint of this coast, once used by the priest as a place to hide. This tour is guided from the hotel. Recommended as a half day program for the family.
