This year the SEMIN family business is celebrating the 180th anniversary of the company set up by Jean-Louis SEMIN back in 1838. In 1980 Philippe Semin took over management of the business which back then had only 7 members of staff. SEMIN is a leading independent French manufacturer, consolidating its position in Europe and developing its presence worldwide. In 1998 Semin set up a production plant at Aspira de l’Agly in the Pyrenees. In 2008 a production plant and training centre were created in Amblainville. And a factory in Russia, not far from Moscow, was recently set up. In 2011 Semin set up a production plant opposite its in Amblainville factory to manufacture metal frames; the same year saw the creation of a subsidiary in Benjaia (Algeria). In 2012 Semin acquired the inspection hatch manufacturer RUG in Germany and the Czech Republic. In 2015 Semin took over Leroux in Tours, a manufacturer of extended frames and classic frames to complement the factory.
