These technical demand that when 'actuation' or the act of the breakage of the cable, there is automatic lock out as the switch moves to stop position, and reset for further use.

Bernstein Series CP and CPS polyester enclosures are made of high-grade glass fiber-reinforced polyester. The black polyester enclosures conform to the requirements for Ex applications and are sufficient for accepting and encapsulating electrical and electronic and control components in harsh environments or implicitly explosive atmospheres. All enclosures have achieved protection class IP 66 in accordance with DIN EN 60529. The captive stainless steel cover screws are maintained by a self-latching element integrated into the cover. The threaded bushes are embedded in the flange on the narrow sides of the base and obtain mounting rails, plates and PC boards.

The aluminium pressure die-cast protective shroud (F3: aluminium sand casting) fully shields the pedal at the top and sides while the wide base provides a high degree of stability. It reliably prevents accidental operation from above by falling objects or careless operation from the side. Due to its robust construction the protective shroud withstands a drop of 20 kg from a height of 1 m. The foot switch is uniquely designed to allow inclusion of additional equipment: — Emergency Stop button — Contactor on DIN rail as main power switch — Customized installations (e.g. light indicators)
