In-line fault testing on single wires and cables during the extrusion or rewinding process has become standard procedure today. ZUMBACH Spark Testers can be used to test the most diverse range of cable products as per international standards, like IEC 62230, UL 1581, UL 2556 and other. Integrated ports allow communication for easy integration with quality control systems (e.g. USYS). According to various applications, ZUMBACH offers Mains Frequency, Direct Current and High-Frequency spark testers. Typically they are installed at the end of the cooling trough in extrusion lines or in rewinding pro- cesses and detect the smallest defects and bare patches in the insulation or sheathing of electrical wires and cables. The QC 2 system consists of a high precision diameter measuring head, a motorized rotating sample holder with automatic sample ejection and a processor unit USYS 20 with special software evaluating the captured values. The system provides fast and accurate measurements of manufactured parts or cut samples. QC 2 can be used either in quality control (QC) laboratories or on factory floors. It provides operators a simple and repeatable solution for parts measurement and immediate notification of meeting specification within given tolerances. The PROFILEMASTER SPS 50/80/150 – S/N 4 system is based on the laser triangulation principle using four up to eight light-section sensors. Each sensor consists of a laser transmitter and an industrial CMOS camera. The sensors are arranged in an octagonal metrology to obtain complete information about the product shape. The optics of the point laser emitter contain a cylindrical lens that generates a line. The CMOS cameras extract the position of the laser line internally using a peak detection algorithm, resulting in a sub-pixel resolution that enables high acquisition speeds. Thanks to its unique concept, precise and reliable measurements are guaranteed for virtually any shape, regardless of torsion. Likewise, an advanced software toolbox is available for measurements such as angles, widths, thicknesses, radii, depths, distances, diameters or deviation from the nominal value. The profile shapes can be easily imported using existing DXF files.

Highly Advanced, Extremely Accurate, and Comprehensive Gauging System for the Market ODEX® 10 (pat. pend.) is a novel concept from ZUMBACH for very accurate and reliable monitoring of insulation diameter and conductor eccentricity/concentricity during extrusion or other insulating processes of ferrous and non-ferrous conductors. ZUMBACH's extensive experience with thousands of ODAC® laser diameter sensors led to this most advanced system. The ODEX® measures eccentricity, diameter and ovality within a few microns (1μm = 0.001mm [.00004in.]). In applications of modern data cables CAT 5...8 and many other cable products, this often decides if the product passes or fails Quality Control Requirements. Because of the outstanding linearity, the ODEX® can be mounted stationary in most applications and without the need of a servo or mechanical tracking system to keep the product centred.
