During the harvest season members of the community go out on donkey-pulled carts to hand-harvest the valuable melon-like fruit. The seeds are then extracted from the fruit in an age-old tradition. This traditional wisdom is a valuable heritage passed on from generation to the next. Today laboratory tests have confirmed that the 100% pure, cold-pressed Nara oil produced by desert hills is high in essential Omega -6-fatty- acids and vitamins. Together with fine African butters and aromatic oils the novel Nara oil is used to make up the natural DESERT GOLD cosmetic range. This cosmetic range was formulated together with a professional natural skin care team. The formulations contain high amounts of the permeable Nara oil and certified organic butters and waxes keeping the skin naturally balance and hydrated. Desert hills commits to real-trade-terms and capacity building, by working directly with the Topnaar community.
