The company Hermann Stahlschmidt Stahlges. m.b.h., abbreviated to HERSTA, was founded in Düsseldorf by the brothers Hermann and Walter Stahlschmidt in 1932, and remains to this day a family-owned company. In 1980 HERSTA moved to Willich, near Düsseldorf. At the new location we have not only expanded our premises over the past decades, but have in particular continued to develop our company. Today, as a specialist for high-quality steel we are an established partner for companies in machine and systems engineering, in the metal removal industry and steel trading – in our region, in Germany, in Europe and globally! With 60 experienced and highly qualified members of staff we have maintained the lean structures and efficient processes of a medium-sized, family owned company. However, with our stock of approximately 20, 000 t as well as our ultra-modern technical systems and software we have all of the technical capabilities of a large enterprise. Oxyfuel and plasma cutting in alloyed and unalloyed steels is our job. We manufacture these exactly as you need them for your project. Whether these are flame-cut parts for the printing press industry, custom plates for bridge construction and container manufacturing or cuts for excavator arms, we at autogena manufacture the basic parts from which your advanced technology is created. Right from the start, we've paid attention to the latest machine technology and process-optimised manufacturing procedures. We are therefore able to work very economically. An advantage that we're glad to pass on to our customers. This is how the firing tables for oxyfuel and plasma cutting, for instance, were enlarged again, processing units were implemented and new flame cutting machines were continually acquired. An annealing furnace, the robot cutting system for chamfers and a roller round off our ability to refine "standard flame-cut parts". We stock approx. 15, 000 tonnes of heavy plates in various material grades, such as S235JR+N / S355J2+N / P355NL2/NH / P265GH / ASME SA 516 size 60/70 and shipbuilding steels of level A to F36. Plates up to a material thickness of 300 mm, a width of 4500 mm and a length of 16, 000 mm are permanently stored and processed. Thanks to the perfect location of our company in northern Hanover with access to the Mittelland Canal, its own rail connection and proximity to the highway, autogena is also able to supply oversized parts.
