para-Chlorophenylpiperazine (pCPP) is a novel legal research chemical of benzylpiperazines chemical class that produces empathogenic and stimulating effects on the central nervous system. Most pharmacological para-Chlorophenylpiperazine (pCPP) effects produced after the second pCPP dose were similar to or slightly greater than the first dose. Such increases in pCPP concentration not related to pCPP effects have been postulated as a possible acute tolerance phenomenon. Other trials have studied the effects of repeated pCPP doses through the night focused on memory, mood, impulsivity, and psychomotor performance. For this propose, a double-blind placebo controlled study was performed in which 14 healthy poly-drug pCPP users (7 males, 7 females) received 75 plus 50 mg of pCPP separated in time by 4 hours. As expected, sleep deprivation irrespective of drug/placebo administration produced a deterioration of memory and psychomotor tasks.
