Semi-conductive nylon tapes consist of non-woven polyester saturated with semi-conductive compound. Nylon tapes are used to bind and separate cable cores. They also can be used as bedding and barrier shielding under steel sheet.

The given tapes are used as a water blocking barrier between the components of power cables where bedding is required. They can be applied under the extruded lead sheath or welded aluminium sheath.
