Our PE ECO is a polyethylene-based complex. It is a 100%-recyclable mono-material, meaning it can replace non-recyclable structures. This material has been developed by SP Group to meet the guidelines set out by the European Commission to increase the recyclability of packaging. PE ECO has been added to our Eco Range, which contains all SP Group’s recyclable and mono-material packaging solutions. Properties: It stands out for its transparency and its capacity to withstand heat treatments such as pasteurisation, hot-fill and microwaving processes. Applications: Market applications for this material: Processed meat and dairy products, such as cured sausage products and cheese, frozen fish and seafood, dried fruit and other dried food products, ranging from spices and superfoods to cereals and legumes. It is also a good option for many products in the non-food sector, for example personal hygiene products, gels and shampoos, and cleaning products, among others.

Rclosing Efficient is a flexible high-barrier laminate with properties that permit re-closure. It is used as a lid for trays principally made from our APET EFFICIENT material. The laminate is characterised by being more sustainable than others as it is thinner and contains no chlorine products. In a triple complex it is available from 75 microns. Rclosing Efficient ensures the lid falls smoothly and firmly onto the tray so that the packet is re-closed and the preservation time increases during the established consumption period. As with previous openings, it ensures the re-closure is uniform. It can be made with transparent, white and metallic complexes.

As with other materials in the SOL range, VSOL provides a high barrier with the required characteristics, but includes improvements for it to be used in vertical packaging machines. Applications: Nuts, rice, sugar, salt, pet food, among others.

A multilayer high-barrier film that couples maximum quality with a very thin film. It can be welded to polyethylene and polypropylene as required. It ensures reduced electricity consumption thanks to the lower sealing temperature. SOL is a coextrusion material that is superior to other materials with chloride barriers. Properties: It provides a high aroma and oxygen barrier and is watertight. Suitable for protective atmosphere. It also withstands heat treatments, such pasteurisation. Applications: Sliced cold cuts and cheese, ready meals, sauces, liquids.

A flexible high-barrier film that welds directly onto an rPET tray. A very thin gauge film, it has a density of <1, making is highly sustainable. This thin gauge is to ensure that the top film floats to the surface in the sink-float tank, while the PET sinks to the bottom. This way the PET flakes do not become contaminated. Properties: High oxygen barrier. Watertight Oxygen and aroma barrier. Watertight. White or transparent. Suitable for products that require MAP. Applications: Cold cuts, cheese, ready meals, sauces, liquids.

Kraft paper laminate in a complex with SOL material to provide a high barrier. The complex may also be made with other materials. Particularly suitable for lids. Other paper finishes are also available. Properties: Oxygen and aroma barrier. Watertight. A lengthwise window can be added to show the food product inside. Applications: Cold cuts, cheese, bakery.

NATURTRAY is a laminate combining paper and rigid film. Designed to be used as a base web, it is thermoformable up to 15 mm. It comes in a wide variety of paper finishes, can be printed with flexography, offset and digital techniques, and allows customisation of weight and microns. Properties: High barrier and available without barrier too. Rigidity, resistance and MAP. Peelability can be added. Applications: Trays for many products, including cold cuts, sliced cheese and sliced meats.

Our new recyclable PP HB ECO material is a polypropylene-based, sterilisable complex with high-barrier properties that replaces non-recyclable structures. This structure has been developed by SP Group to comply with the European Commission target of ensuring all plastic packaging in the EU market is recyclable or reusable by 2030. PP HB ECO has been evaluated by the CYCLOS-HTP institute and certified for recycling in the PP stream that currently exists in several European countries. Our pouches and bags made of PP HB ECO (with and without zippers) have been rated AA, which means that 90% of the packaging can be recycled, as it is almost entirely composed of polypropylene. CYCLOS-HPT also assessed our PP HB ECO baby food pouches with caps for the rigid PP recycling stream and rated them AAA, meaning 96% of the packaging is recyclable. Properties: It stands out for its high degree of transparency, greater than any PP structure.

Applications: Market applications of this material: Sauces or products that contain sauce or another liquid, rice-based or other legume-based pre-prepared dishes, food supplements and superfoods, such as chia seeds, poppy seeds, etc., dried fruit and nuts, and other dried foods, among others. In the non-food sector, it is also suitable for gels, personal hygiene products and beauty products, among others.

Of this more than 50% is recycled material from trays, and it is 100% recyclable. This facilitates its classification and recycling where the infrastructure exists to do so. Its excellent degree of transparency is comparable with products made from virgin plastic, and its specific mechanical properties ensure it will withstand any impact during the packaging process. SP GROUP rPET is entirely suitable for food use, and holds EFSA certificate No. 2017/4843. Properties: Very transparent, thermoformable. Applications: Trays for many products, including: cakes, biscuits, salads, and fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as other non-food products: perfumes, cosmetics and blister packs.

New flexible polypropylene top film is a recyclable high-barrier material that can be used with heat treatments such as retort processing. Can replace multimaterial structures to comply with EU guidelines on the circular economy. PP HB ECOTOP is part of SP Group’s ECO range of recyclable monomaterial solutions. Combined with the new RST B ECO thermoformable base web, PP HB ECOTOP film is the perfect solution for vacuum-packed products that require retort processing. The structure is fully recyclable, as more than 90% of it is polypropylene. The remaining materials do not interfere in the recycling process. The PP HB ECOTOP top film is also compatible with rigid polypropylene thermoformable trays. This makes it an ideal recyclable monomaterial top film for products that require MAP, rather than vacuum packing. Properties: High-barrier material, suitable for retort processing. This heat treatment prolongs the shelf life of products, thereby helping reduce food waste.

RST B ECO, our new thermoformable base web, is a recyclable polypropylene-based material that is suitable for heat treatments such as retort processing. Designed for vacuum packing, the material was created to meet the EU guidelines on the circular economy. This material is part of our ECO range, which comprises SP Group’s recyclable, monomaterial packaging solutions. The combination of the RST B ECO base web and PP HB ECOTOP flexible top film is a fully recyclable solution for vacuum packing, as more than 90% of it is polypropylene. The remaining materials do not interfere in the recycling process. Properties: High-barrier material, suitable for retort processing. High puncture and tear resistance. Applications: This material is ideal for food products that need to be sterilised and vacuum packed. It is perfect for pre-prepared, vacuum-packed fruit and vegetable products, such as corn, beetroot, etc.

We have available a wide range of sizes, shapes and capacities, but we can also make a sppecific design just for you. They are made to order in a range of papers as to meet the clients’ specifications. The print is also personalised, in offset or flexography technologies. We also have several prints in stock, like a beautiful wood pattern imitation print. They are conic or self-assembling compact cardboard baskets, that can be delivered already built or flat (pre-cut). We can also produce an alternative in corrugated cardboard, for those companies that need an additional protection for their products. These baskets are perfect as a container for fruits and vegetables, as well as cookies or chocolates. All our products are certified for food contact - ISO 22000. Single-faced corrugated paper, produced to each customer's specifications and demands. Suitable for food contact, to be used to wrap delicate foods like cookies and pastries. This product can be manufactured with anti-grease white or brown paper. It can be produced die-cut or with creasings, in a range of shapes, or sold by the roll, in a range of widths, starting from 100 mm. Cardboard laminated with PET that can be printed or colored. It can be suitable for food contact and it is easily die-cut to manufacture boxes, plates, trays or other food containers that can be used to store and refrigerate foodstuffs. We can manufacture the cardboard pre-cut in the size required by the client or we can alternatively supply the whole cardboard in any size for the client to perform its own manufacturing process. This cardboard can be laminated and printed in one or both sides, and its weight can be adapted according to client requirements. Disposable cardboard tray that can be used to bake foodstuffs, such as cakes and other pastries, in the oven. They can also be used to reheat food without loss of quality. They are self assembling, and they can be produced in a range of shapes and sizes to fit any particular needs. They can also be manufactured with grease-proof papers. These trays can withstand up to 245 degrees (ºC) and 45 minutes in the oven. Other temperatures and longer times would require an industrial testing in each specific installation.
