Lödige supplies logistic systems specifically intended for handling parcels for air cargo. Our parcel and mail handling systems enable peaks in demand to be dealt with effectively on a daily basis. We adapt our high-throughput, space-saving systems to your specific requirements, attaching particular importance to quality and reliability in the process. At a recently completed parcel handling facility in Europe, Lödige installed a new sorting system that can handle more than 2,000 items per hour. The innovative sorter system was built in cooperation between Lödige Industries and Vanderlande and allows for faster handling of all post, express and pharmaceutical consignments. Lödige’s innovative system enables state-of-the-art parcel handling even in space restricted locations.

For non-mechanized terminals, slave pallets are an essential tool for handling and transporting ULDs. The pallets are equipped with four rows of 16 non-powered rollers. There is a non-slip treadplate between the rollers that allows the pallet to be walked on. Slave pallets can be transported using powered conveyor systems or the Lödige Mini and Lödige Robby, as well as using our slave pallet mover. The slave pallet mover is an electrically operated floor conveyor for transporting slave pallets. It is powered by a battery and has a lifting unit for elevating pallets. Three forks ensure the ULDs are transferred safely. This means slave pallets can be moved throughout the building quickly and easily. The FlexLoader merges the functionality of a truck dock and a pallet transporter. Operable via remote control and powered by a battery, the FlexLoader also has a freely steerable drive system which affords flexible movement in all directions. The vehicle's integrated lifting function makes it possible to pick up and set down ULDs and pallets from different heights. Dolly Docks from Lödige facilitate the airside loading and unloading of air cargo units Dolly docks receive and send off ULDs on airside. Fast and smooth transfer is essential. Our dolly docks can be equipped with a hydraulic tilting function and can form part of an airlock. Sized and equipped to your requirements, the dolly docks from Lödige will facilitate your airside interface.

The truck dock from Lödige facilitates the loading and unloading of air cargo units onto and off trucks. Equipped with a hydraulic lifting unit and a vertical shift function, the truck dock brings conveyor elements into line with the truck loading ramp. ULDs or pallets are transferred horizontally by a powered roller conveyor. Depending on requirements, the conveyor can be replaced or combined with other technologies such as a ball deck or castor deck. A moving version of the truck dock is also available.

The storage and retrieval vehicle is used for storing ULDs in racking. Equipped with a lift, the Elevating Transfer Vehicle transports ULDs vertically and horizontally at the same time. It is guided by rails which also supply the power needed. The transfer vehicle is used for transporting cargo horizontally on a single level. The individual loading units are moved on and off the racking by interconnecting the integrated roller conveyor with external roller decks. As well as transporting ULDs which take up the entire surface of the roller deck, it is possible to transfer two containers simultaneously. The roller deck is used to transport ULDs and pallets in a single direction on a horizontal plane and is combined with other elements to create an overall system. The right angle deck is used to change the direction, in which ULDs are being conveyed by 90 degrees. This is made possible by combining two conveyors in one unit, which are elevated within a supporting frame depending on the flow direction. Lödige Industries has developed a ULD loading station designed to increase safety and efficiency levels while loading baggage into ULD containers. The design has been used at major airports like London Heathrow to facilitate and speed up baggage ULD loading and unloading. This inhouse Lödige product ensures the safe and effective handling of ULD’s during the transfer process on the apron. Ball units give a smooth and light transfer from/to the dollies, whilst the addition of pneumatically driven pads and stop pins ensure the ULD is safely held in position for loading and unloading.
