If the load has sharp edges or has a rough outer surface, a suitable abrasion or edge protector must be used. secutex edgeprotectors are easy and versatile to use. The extremely robust secutex edgeprotectors protect the load and the lashing belts. They increase the radius of the edge and prevent “sharp edges”. The corner edgeprotector SWH for lashing belts considerably increases the radius on the corners. It is particularly robust and durable thanks to the perforatedplate reinforcement. An optional magnetic version can be easily attached to the magnetic load.

By means of a hinge, the edge protector SKB can be optimally suited to fit any load geometry. It can be optionally equipped with magnets to better retain its position on the magnetic load. The edge protector can be quickly secured to the edge of the lashing belt by means of mounting slits. The lashing belt slides through the secutex clip which remains on the lashing belt despite collisions. Optionally available Magnets for easy fixation of the magnetic load

Even when securing the load, the lashing material must be protected against the „sharp edge“. Highvalue loads may not be damaged by lashing chains or ropes. The SKBE secutex simple edge protector has a low deadweight and is easy to handle thanks to the flexible textile reinforcement. It is simply pushed onto the lashing material via the fulllength opening on the reverse side and is thereby impossible to lose. Important note the secutex simple edge protector SKBE is not suitable for prolonged use.

secutex protective sleeves protect loads and textile lifting accessories against marks left by handling. If an edge exceeds the range covered by the norm, the usual textile lifting accessories can no longer be used in conjunction with the secutex protective sleeve. If the edge radius of a load is less than 2 mm, lifting experts refer to it as a “critically sharp edge“. secuwave and secuwave Mini are thicklycoated protective sleeves with a wave structure on the contact side. The wave structure increases the bending radius of “sharp edges”. The edge lies in a wave trough, while the load rests on the wave peak. Therefore, the “sharp edge“ has no contact with the protective sleeve. secuwave is delivered as a clip. This means that it can be subsequently added to a lifting situation. secuwave is available in two versions. The various sizes mean that the suitable wave size can be used.

Even when securing the load, the wire cable must be protected from the “sharp edge“. Highvalue loads may not be damaged by wire cables. The secutex simple edgeprotector SKDE is easily pushed over the backside of the mounting slit and over the wire cable. It is affixed and can no longer be detached. The edgeprotector is simple and versatile. The corner protector has a low deadweight and is quick and easy to handle thanks to the flexible textile reinforcement.

When lifting machinery components, there are always edges and surfaces which are insufficiently protected by regular edgeprotectors and protective sleeves. Textile load lifting accessories cannot always be used, as the cables or chains being used press against the load with extreme pressure. Damage to the often expensive and highlymachined components is often unavoidable and the edges must be reworked at great cost. The secuPad is DIN A4 size and can easily be placed at critical locations by hand. It consists of multiple textile layers joined together on every side. It adapts flexibly even to difficult contours. The surface is coated in Powerflex and protected against abrasion and the penetration of shavings and lubricants.

This protective sleeve is particularly robust and has two contact sides in this version for work on both sides. Both contact sides are coated with secutex. They are extremely resistant and minimize the buildup of wrinkles in the textile. Use of the protective sleeve is no longer necessary.

Economical and durable A perfect combination Excellent handling, as the loops of the wear strap are extremely flat and can be easily inserted under the load. The rigid wear strap can be easily pushed even through narrow gaps. Improved efficiency, as the crane does not have to be lowered as far. Experience has shown, lifting processes have been significantly improved. Extra light, as the textile material of the sling offers a clear weight advantage over steel cables or chains. Economical, as only the lowcost wear strap has to be replaced! Durable, as the loop of the wear strap is coated and is therefore protected against wear.

This protective sleeve sits firmly on the lifting strap and therefore stays in its position when the lifting strap is in contact with the load. The contact side is coated with secutex which is extremely tearresistant and reduces the formation of creases in the textile strap. The reverse side is coated with Powerflex and protected against abrasion and penetrating dirt. The very flat form and resistance to bending in a longitudinal direction make it simple to insert the SFXequipped strap into small gaps. The firm grip prevents unintentional slipping.

While the stiffness of regular protective sleeves often makes lifting easier, it can be rather uncomfortable when handling smallersized loads. Small gaps and limited contact areas make handling the stiff protective sleeve more difficult in this situation. The secutex “veloxClip“ is made with a slit along the reverse side. This makes it very flexible in the bending direction. In the longitudinal direction, on the other hand, the protective sleeve keeps its valued properties and remains stiff. This makes it a very simpletouse alternative when lifting loads with more limited contact areas. It is easy to insert through lower gaps and adapts flexibly to loads during lifting.

The secutex clip [SC] can be quickly mounted thanks to mounting slots on the backside. On a case to case basis, it is preferably used in places where round slings or protective sleeves are required. Important The clip [SC] offers simple handling and quick setup times. The secutex protective layer can be placed softly and flexibly on the load, increasing the radius on critical edges. Leverage force can be extensively distributed and the load remains undamaged.

The Powerflex protective sleeve helps to effectively increase the friction values of smooth surfaces or to protect the lifting strap against rough surfaces. The particularlyrobust Powerflex penetrates deep into the fibres and also protects the protective sleeve against the penetration of fluids or dirt particles.

The Clipon sleeve easyClip [ESC] can be quickly mounted thanks to mounting slots on the backside. On a case to case basis, it is preferably used in places where round slings or protective sleeves are required. Important The clipon sleeve easyClip [ESC] offers simple handling and quick setup times. Machine elements and casted parts must be turned frequently during the manufacturing process and for shipping. The components are getting bigger and bigger and the demands on quality and time are getting higher and higher. Expensive cranes are often blocked for hours for the challenging turning operations and a large part of the production areas cannot be used during this time. SpanSetsecutex coatings for lifting slings and protective sleeves are used daily for lifting and moving sharpedged loads. For the safe and economical turning of heavy and difficult loads, secutex has now developed the turning slings with the new secuWave coating (patent pending). The unique feature of the secutex turning slings is the new wave profile. It combines the wellknown advantages of secutex coatings – excellent cut resistance and flexibility as well as a very high wear and abrasion resistance

secutex coated lifting straps gently adapt to the „sharp edges“ of the load. The extreme structural resistance of the secutex material safely prevents any cutting of the load lifting accessory. For very „sharp edges“ the coated lifting strap is preferable since it reliably prevents movement over the edge. We offer two different types of fixed coating. The secutex fixed coating protects the single sided secutex coating against cuts to the loadbearing textile.The reverse side is protected against abrasion and dirt by the Powerflex thin coating. The lifting straps with secutex fixed coatings are very flexible and easytouse. The twosided fixed coating provides allround protection to the lifting strap, offering double security. This means that both sides can be used as contact sides. Dangerous mixups are now a thing of the past.

secutex [S1] and secutex [S2] Coated with secutex on one side or equally on both sides, this version is particularly robust and extremely cutresistant.

Extremely cutresistant contact side Extremely tearresistant contact side. In this version, the lifting strap is coated with two different types. The secutex layer on the contact side is extremely tearresistant. The reverse side is coated with Powerflex. Powerflex prevents abrasion and provides additional protection to the textile against dirt and the penetration of foreign particles

Fixed protective sleeve with movable fixed coating The new patentprotected secumove coating combines the advantages of a protective sleeve and a sleeve with a fixed coating. The protective secutex coating is firmly attached to a loop of the lifting strap. The other end of the lifting strap slides freely through the sleeve and is used to equalise the lengths. secumove thereby ensures that there is no movement over “sharp edges”. No movement, no wear when nothing moves, nothing becomes worn. The service life of the newlydeveloped secumove coating is therefore significantly increased, even when used with rough loads. secumove is optionally also available with proven metal plate reinforcement for “critically sharp edges“. For these heavy duty loads, we recommend specialist onsite advice. Important uses include, for example, the careful lifting of loadbearing trusses or sheet packages and coils. secumove is not suitable for turning.

This very compact thin layer surrounds the lifting strap either on a single side or completely. It is extremely wearresistant and ideal for very rough surfaces. The Powerflex coating provides additional protection to the textile against dirt and the penetration of foreign particles.

We recommend against turning stacked coils upright on the stack. The first choice for the raising of packages delivered in a horizontal position with split straps is therefore always a coil turning seat. However, there is not always a fixed installation for raising narrow coils. The secutex splitband turning strap has two different attachment ends. One end loop of the secutex lifting strap is flat, and can be easily threaded through the gap between the split bands. The flat end loop can then be easily hooked into the forged Cshackle. The protective sleeve is positioned against the “sharp edges“ of the coil. During lifting, the strap moves freely through the protective sleeve while the latter remains motionless against the load. There is no movement, and therefore no wearing against the “sharp edges“. The solution An end loop of secutex lifting slings for slit strips is flat and can easily be pushed into the gap between the slit strips.

The secutex protective sleeve is optimally coordinated from a technical standpoint for the spanset lashing belt programme or the spanset round slings. The contact side is coated with secutex. It is extremely resistant and minimizes the buildup of wrinkles in the textile. The secutex protective sleeve with singlesided coating can be easily pushed over lifting equipment and protects against damage caused by “sharp edges” and the rough edges of the lifting equipment and the load at the same time.

The form and surface of the edge have a significant effect on the durability of the lifting accessory. Very rough surfaces, such as tsleeve of precast concrete products, can quickly damage the lifting strap or cable. If nothing moves, there can be no wear. The cutresistant secutex protective sleeve sits firmly against the edge and the textile lifting strap runs reliably through the protective sleeve.

In addition to loads with rightangled edges, there are also transportable goods with different geometry. These include loads with projecting spines and with sharp or jagged external contours such as gearwheels, turbine blades, etc. These edges are not addressable using normal approaches. The secuwave protective sleeve was developed for components with extremely critical edges. secuwave increases the deflection radius. The „sharp edge“ has no contact with the protective sleeve and thus cannot cut it.

If the edge radius is smaller than the thickness of the lifting strap, the edge is considered „sharp“. Lateral motion or pressure alone may be enough to cut through the textile fibres of the lifting strap. The 56 mm secutex coating sits between the load and the textile load lifting accessory. The edge radius is increased by this layer. The edge is no longer sharp against the lifting strap and lift forces are directed away from the edge.

The protection against „sharp edges“ Alongside other factors such as temperature, chemical environment and mechanical loads, the „sharp edge“ remains one of the main causes of damage to the lifting accessory itself and frequent cause of accidents. Most damage on sharp or rough edges is the result of load movement perpendicular to the load lifting accessory. If the edge is „sharp“ it can, in a worstcase scenario, cut through the lifting accessory. If the load moves laterally, a cutting movement takes place at the edge. Much like the blade of a knife, the edge can cut through the fibres of the textile lifting accessory. For loads with a „sharp edge“ or with a rough surface, a protective sleeve or fixed coating is recommended to protect the textile lifting strap.
