Liquid chillers for low temperatures, also in outdoor environments The RW CW series of process fluid coolers (water, water/antifreeze) are water-cooled and operate with environmentally friendly gas compression. They allow cooled liquid temperatures between -8°C and +20°C. In standard design, ambient temperatures of up to +40°C are permissible, but in the “RW ax/HTA” version even higher ambient temperatures can be achieved. IP54 degree of protection as standard, allowing outdoor installation without a protective roof.

ERW ax systems for industrial refrigeration of process fluids (water, water and glycol) are air-cooled units, using EC (Electronic Control) axial fans. This range includes a series of models with cooling capacities from 2.1 kWf up to 595 kWf. Three different versions are provided for different outlet fluid temperature ranges, agreed with the customer during the design phase. The entire range uses refrigerant with GWP 631.

The secret of this system is the combination of the refrigeration section and the free-cooling section depending on the time of day and year: the first mode allowed by these liquid chillers takes advantage of the normal operation of a refrigeration circuit, the second allows cold outside air to be directly conveyed to the fluid to be cooled: maximum efficiency, minimum energy use due to the clear separation between the two sections.

Low outlet fluid temperatures (water or water and glycol, down to -8°C) characterize RW ax LT liquid chillers: air condensation ensures that they use are electrical energy, and not water, for their operation: a resource that is then optimized by the electronically controlled “brushless” type axial fans. Up to +40°C ambient temperature allowed in standard execution.

RW ax systems for industrial refrigeration of process fluids (water, water and glycol) are air-cooled: the only resource used is therefore electrical energy, a decisive advantage in contexts where it is advisable to save water (because of its cost or scarcity). The IP54-grade machine protection (against dust and other agents) facilitates their installation in outdoor environments, which is also possible at temperatures up to +40°C and above, at the customer’s request. RW ax liquid chillers from Frigofluid are suitable for achieving average fluid outlet temperatures (between +1°C and 20°C), with excellent control of the resources used for their operation.

Extra large capacity air-cooled chillers with the cooling power of 120 kW to 1400 kW are designed for immense industrial and commercial buildings with high-power demand. CF series chillers are able to provide the highest cooling capacity of all the chillers produced by Refra. The intricate design of the open frame makes it possible to produce a unit with extremely powerful, high-quality parts. These units can be assembled with a built-in hydraulic module, as well as additional free cooling (possible with hybrid coils) or heat recovery options. Exposed frame construction and special perforated doors provide greater air movement and absorption, so the chiller can operate at high capacity without interruption. Two to four circuits can be added to ensure continuous system operation in case of emergency – if one circuit is damaged, the others can still use the remaining unit capacity to service the end user.

Iced Water Unit, Ice Bank or Chiller Unit are used to cool milk and food products. The machine has a cooling system and the tank has water inside it, the cooling groups cool water until 1-2 C and cold water is used to cool milk, dairy products and the other food products.

Air cooled chillers

The ARA-T2 series air cooled chiller devices are units employing high efficient R410A cooling fluid with zero ozone thinning potential and having two scroll compressors. The device will start to run at half capacity in cases where the capacity need is low and the electricity consumption will be decreased significantly by being equipped with two compressors. Beside this, it operates at half capacity and the complete stoppage of the process is prevented in case of any defect of one of the compressors. The initial investment costs are low compared with fully independent devices.
