4’-(Methyl­mercapto)-aceto­phenone

Ethacridine lactate is an aromatic organic compound based on acridine. It is mainly used as an antiseptic (in the form of ointments and solutions) for the treatment of infected wounds and pyoderma. Besides, it finds application as bladder and vaginal irrigation solution. It is effective against most gram-positive bacteria, such as streptococci and staphylococci, but ineffective against gram-negative bacteria, such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa. In addition, ethacridine lactate is used for diarrhea (or diarrhea prophylaxis). Here, the active ingredient normalizes the increased movement of the intestines through its antispasmodic effect. It also has an antibacterial effect and reduces the permeability of the intestinal wall to fluids. Thus, diarrhea can be counteracted. As a rule, it is administered in combination with tannin albuminate.

Bamipine is an anti-allergic and antipruritic agent from the group of 1st generation antihistamines, which is used in the form of a gel for the symptomatic treatment of insect bites. The anticholinergic effects are based on antagonism at histamine H1 receptors. The drug, administered as a gel, is applied thinly several times a day.
