When it comes to seat heaters, we at Embro think first and foremost of the textile processors of vehicle seats. Because our textile heating elements are in great demand in the automotive industry. They are easy to process, flexible, and kink-resistant. The heat output is individually adapted to the customer’s requirements in the development process and suitably distributed and laid out on the desired surface (wire laying). With the increasing number of electric vehicles being produced, the demand for further heating solutions for the interior area is also rising. Embro heating mats heat the seats and interior via heating elements in the center and side armrests and trim parts. We are using CNC - technology for the laying of thin and insulated heating wires on a variety of carrier materials in order to manufacture all kinds of heating elements. We can work up to sizes of 2 x 2 m, and we can realize medium series (500 - 10.000pcs.) as well as high volume productions (up to 1 million pcs.). All voltages from 3,7V up to 480V are possible. In order to meet the demands for robustness and efficient heat output, we have embroidered the heating element on a glass mesh fabric carrier material. Between the meandering arrangement of the heating strands, we integrate a recess for the temperature switch in the CAD layout. In addition, a second wire is laid concurrently as a PTC thermistor for the electrical connection of the safety switch. After the technical embroidery process, the safety switch is inserted and connected by our company’s respective department. Each prefabricated element is tested for functionality and performance in the final inspection and is delivered to the customer after passing the test. As a semi-finished product, the infrared heating element on glass mesh fabric can be further processed by the customer, e.g. in connection with silicone, rubber or epoxy resin.
EMBRO GmbH is a manufacturer of electrical heating elements and surface heating elements, silicone heating mats, heating fabrics as well as flexible heating foils and heating systems, textile sensors/RFID antennas/composite applications – carbon preforms/textile electrodes and innovative textiles. We are specialised in developing and producing technical textiles with the help of plaiting/embroidery machines. During this process, conductive threads, strands, wires or heating conductors are laid on substrate material by means of computer-controlled machines. They are then fixed in place with diverse sewing and embroidering techniques and offer a durable, highly flexible incorporation. Modern CAD workstations and corresponding capacities enable us to always react quickly and most flexibly. In addition to this, there is the consistent further development of materials and production technologies, as well as close cooperation with a wide range of external partners such as research institutes.
