Examples of microstructuring are the production of microfluidics or microlenses on our ultra-precise multi-axis machines. We can manufacture the structures directly in various materials such as brass, chemically deposited nickel or in selected hardened steels.For the replicating production of optical components, ultra-precise mold inserts made of steel are of particular interest due to their very long service life compared to other materials. In order to avoid the final polishing, which often leads to an undesirable change in shape or which is impossible due to a high structure density, LT Ultra offers ultrasound-assisted machining of steels with geometrically defined cutting edges made of monocrystalline diamond.

LT Ultra is your partner for the production of optical surface qualities in injection mold inserts. For example, we can manufacture inserts for the injection molding of spectacle lenses with several focal lengths as well as mold inserts for microlenses or components for vehicle lighting systems. In addition to simple geometries such as spheres or aspheres, we mainly manufacture non-rotationally symmetrical components and freeform surfaces.Mold inserts for a long service life can be made from chemically deposited nickel (NiP). Here you can work directly in the nickel. The advantage is that the very durable nickel can also be deposited on substrates that could not be brought into optical quality themselves or only with great effort. On request, LT Ultra offers the complete delivery of the mold insert as well as the processing of additional parts.

Structured optics are produced using turning, milling and planing Technology.. Under thermally controlled conditions we can realize structure depths in the submicrometer range with accuracies also in the submicrometer range. Different types: Microlenses, Grids, Fresnel- optics.

UP milled parts are components that due to their geometric shape can only be produced with 4- or 5-axis machines with high-frequency spindle. The MM machines, developed by LT Ultra, make it possible to produce the parts economically and quickly.
