DESCRIPTION The Torque Powder Brakes (TPBSeries) are ideal for applications operating in the low speed range or middle to-high torque range. These magnetic powder brakes provide full torque at zero speed and are convection or air cooled, allowing power ratings up to 900W (2100W with air cooling). APPLICATIONS These units are suited for tension control applications, such as wire winding, foil, film, and tape tension control. Mounted on test benches, TPB Series - Torque Powder Brakes allow performance and reliability testing on driving elements such as electric motors, hand-held power tools, geared motors, reduction gears, and hydraulic transmission systems. Other applications include load simulation for life testing on electric motors, actuators, gearboxes, power steering, and many other rotating devices and assemblies.

Magtrol's new PSD hand-held indicator is a stand-alone unit powered by 3 AA batteries or via USB. It is very compact (~160 x 80 x 50 mm) and can be easily carried and used on a civil engineering site, in a research & development office or laboratory as well as in production shop. Its case is ergonomic, waterproof (IP54) and protected by a rubber shock absorber. It is suitable to any type of strain gauge transducers, being a load cell, a load pin or a reaction torque sensor. The internal amplifier can process signal range of ±0.3 ... 5 mV/V. The new PSD Portable Display is very flexible and complies with the highest specification in terms of accuracy (0.01%) and measurement frequency (1600/s). MSD Mega Speed Dynamometer is the latest Magtrol innovation in the very high-speed motor and system testing. Challenged by its numerous customers in the Dental and Surgical field, Magtrol is pushing the limit to a level which was never reached. The braking effect is based on Eddy-Current induced on an aluminum disc directly mounted on the DUT (Device Under Test) shaft. Torque is measured frictionless by a 20 mN·m Reaction Torque Sensor having a resolution of 0.01 mN·m. Due to the thermal effect on the disc, the Mega Speed Dynamometer is not suit­able for endurance testing, but can be used to generate a fast curve or perform point to point testing. An infrared sensor monitors the temperature of the disc and stops the test in case of overheating. The disc can be designed and sized according to the motor parameters. As a Signal Conditioner, the AN1500M is designed to process and display signals coming from various types of transducers (weight, load, pressure, torque, etc.) that use standard strain-gauge bridges. As a Load Monitor the AN1500M can also receive any signal within the ±150mVDC range coming from a shunt, a converter or any type of transmitter. The Load Monitor provides selectable input ranges (±15mV, ±30mV, ±150mV) and excitation voltages (5V, 10V) to accommodate cells of various types and sensitivities. Two programming methods allow scaling of the meter to operate in the desired engineering units. The basic instrument is a soldered assembly composed of a main board, a tri-color programmable display and a power circuit. Standard features include the reading of the input variable as well as remote (HOLD), the reading and memorization of minimum/maximum values (PEAK/VALLEY), TARE and RESET function, and a full complement of programmable logic functions.

The AN2000C Signal Conditioner & Display is designed to process and display signals coming from various types of transducers (weight, load, pressure, torque, etc.) that use standard strain-gauge bridges. It can also receive any signal within the range ±300mVDC coming from a shunt, a converter or any type of transmitter. The Conditioner provides selectable input ranges (max. ±300mV) and excitation voltages (5V, 10V) to accommodate cells of various types and sensitivities. Two programming methods allow scaling of the meter to operate in the desired engineering units. The basic instrument consists of a PCB assembly including the main board, the display and the power supply filter, to which the A/D conversion circuit and the input option are added. The functions of the basic instrument include the display of the input variable as well as the remote freezing of the display (HOLD), the reading of the stored minimum and maximum values (PEAK & VALLEY) and the TARE function with RESET.

The TSC Series is the Torque and Speed Conditioner used to connect Magtrol Eddy-Current (WB) or Powder (PB) Dynamometers to the DSP7000 Dynamometer Controller. Powered by the dynamometer controller, and based on a precision instrumentation amplifier, the unit amplifies and filters the torque signal. It also provides power and connections for the speed pickup sensor which is located in the dynamometer.

Magtrol’s line of Displacement Transducers provide contactless measurement of absolute piston position in hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders and other applications. Their robust construction, large insensitivity to shocks and very long life (due to no moving parts and therefore no wear of components) make them both cost effective and very reliable. Magtrol transducers offer a wide range of operational temperatures and admissible pressure resistance for even the most demanding applications. The transducer provides a direct 4 - 20 mA output signal corresponding to the measuring range, as well as VDC temperature output. As an option Magtrol offers the CST 113 Signal Converter, which allows the complete chain to be calibrated according to the specific needs, either in current or voltage output. The DI Series of displacement transducers were developed principally for OEM applications in the hydraulic industry.
