ECO-ROCCA Engineering is a privately held professional engineering consulting company based in Jiu Valley, Transylvania - Romania, in a heavily industrialised region where, for more than 150 years, the main activity was linked to the mining of coal deposits. We are more than a typical engineering consultancy - we are a spin-off of the most famous Mining Institute in Southeastern Europe (today called the University of Petrosani), specialising in the fields of Environment, Geotechnics & Mining. Mining activities have affected every part of the Hunedoara County, bringing into the landscape many shafts with deep and shallow mine workings, open coal pits and rock quarries, most of them being hidden in time due to revegetation and/or agricultural activities. The legacy from the past 150 years of mining activities left the area with pressing environmental issues which need to be addressed accordingly; Therefore, we are working along with a multidisciplinary team of professionals, experts, specialists, consultants, scientific researchers and engineers with extensive practical and theoretical, national and international experience in our area of competences. We are a professional, dynamic, innovative, creative, reliable and client-focused team, which aims to support private and public sectors with bespoke consulting services in line with the best international practices, and we love what we do.
