  1. ALPHA MANUFACTURING

    United Kingdom

ALPHA MANUFACTURING are a UK based Precision Sheet Metal Fabricator located in Hixon, Stafford. We manufacture sheet metal fabrications, and offer metal design and engineering services. Additionally, we provide a quick turnaround of metal prototypes using our full range of expert sheet metal fabrication techniques including: Design - Sheet metal fabrication products are developed in a 3D environment on CAD software. Computer models of the metal products can be produced to ensure that assemblies are consistently successful at prototype stage. Prototyping - The metal prototyping service 'Alpha XP' enables one off metal prototypes in sheet metal, stainless steel or a non-ferrous metal, utilising as many of the metal production processes as required within Alpha's sheet metal services. Laser Cutting - Alpha's extremely versatile and efficient laser cutting machines can work in a range of material types and thickness' from mild steel to wood and plastic. The laser cutting machines have a table size of 4000mm x 2000mm. CNC Punching - Alpha Manufacturing's CNC punching facilities comprise of three Pullmax machines and one Trumph machine, each offering unrivalled process speeds. CNC Folding - Alpha Manufacturing has a range of forming facilities, each of them designed to suit differing product types.

  2. CCR (WEDNESBURY) LTD

    United Kingdom

CCR (Wednesbury) Ltd is the UK’s leading manufacturer of precision cold roll formed rings from coil, strip or sheet metal a process also known as contour roll forming. Holding both Rolls Royce and AS9100 approval, the company supplies a diverse range of customers in the UK and worldwide. Industry sectors we serve include: Aerospace Power Generation Land based turbines Chimney flues Heating and ventilating Telecoms Lighting Storage drums Percussion drum hoops Using in-house design and test facilities we make difficult to form ring sections from sheet metal or coil strip of uniform thickness up to a maximum of 3mm. Contour cold rolled forming produces close to high integrity parts (with little or no subsequent finishing). This is what sets it apart from other more expensive methods such as forging, pressing or machining. Materials we work in include high-temperature alloys, titanium, aluminium, stainless and mild steels.

  3. STAMPINGSIMULATION

    United Kingdom

Sheet metal forming simulation can help tool and die designers to build tools right the first time, saving large amounts of time and money. In this case, Malbern Engineering in South Africa had designed and fabricated a tool for a new automotive project. During initial tryout, the process formed the part successfully. However, once the tool was set for production, constant splits resulted. Initially, a forming simulation of the current process was performed, to determine if the splits were expected. The forming simulation result shows that indeed, the material is predicted to split. This is due to excessive thinning in the current process. "I decided to modify the 1st stage form tool as per your recommendation and as you can see from the photo’s the proposal was successful. Thank you very much for your input." Marco Smargiasso - Technical & Marketing Manager - Malben Engineering A modification to the pre-form process was proposed, using sheet metal forming simulation to enginee
