CMOS sensors are used within commercial grade Digital SLR cameras as a replacement for the more expensive CCD. These CMOS sensors are extremely sensitive to IR light, which can lead to discolouration. IR cut filters are used to block the IR light, meaning that photographs are taken with life-like colours. Colour Glass Filters can be used in variations of Bandpass, Long pass and Short pass, depending on which wavelengths of light need to be blocked resulting in different key areas being more easily distinguished. Knight Optical offers Colour Glass and IR cut filters for such an application, with a wide range of band widths and cut on/off wavelengths. As above these are available as Bandpass, Long pass or Short pass filters and we can also offer customised filters with coatings specific to the wavelength of your choice. We hold a massive inventory of IR cut, Bandpass, Long Pass and Short Pass filters: Read PDF for more info….

The xiC is an extremely diversified and highly modular camera family designed for the Sony Pregius™ sensor series. It offers multiple choices of combining sensors and interfaces. Even though it is a board stack for system integrators it has all the benefits of a single board design and is incredibly small.

The xiB cameras stream images to the host computer via 4 lanes on a PCI Express Gen2 bus, boasting an impressive 20 Gbit/s of bandwidth. Together with minimal latencies the CPU load, the PCIe technology is ideal for high resolution CMOS sensors. The cameras are compactly housed in 60 x 60 x 38 mm, can be fully synchronized with their multiple GPIOs and offer an active Canon EF-Mount. All properties are extremely useful in multi-camera applications like 360 panoramas. In situations where multiple camera heads need to be placed in close proximity, system integrators can combine and aggregate the data streams from cameras with various resolutions via additional accessories.

The PROFILEMASTER SPS 200 / 400 / 550 / 800 system is based on the laser triangulation principle using four up to eight light-section sensors. Each sensor consists of a laser transmitter and an industrial CMOS camera. The sensors are arranged in an octagonal metrology to obtain complete information about the product shape. The optics of the point laser emitter contain a cylindrical lens that generates a line. The CMOS cameras extract the position of the laser line internally using a peak detection algorithm, resulting in a sub-pixel resolution that enables high acquisition speeds. Thanks to its unique concept, precise and reliable measurements are guaranteed for virtually any shape, regardless of torsion. Likewise, an advanced software toolbox is available for measurements such as angles, widths, thicknesses, radii, depths, distances, diameters or deviation from the nominal value. The profile shapes can be easily imported using existing DXF files.
