SYSTEM SOLUTIONS FOR GAS STORAGE With the Lipp gas holder Lipp offers a tried and tested system solution which is complete in itself, for unpressurised storage of biogas, sewage gas and landfill gas. This solution is chiefly used for municipal waste water treatment plants and landfills. Due to its design, as well as high functional and operational safety, it also ensures low maintenance costs over a very long service life. This is mainly because the sensitive gas holder is protected against UV radiation and other environmental influences by a steel container manufactured with the Lipp dual seam system. Furthermore, this construction method allows an exact leak test and highly accurate metrological monitoring of the gas fill level. Both aspects are essential for safe and efficient plant operation. With certification according to § 19 WHG for Lipp GmbH and DVGW approval of the gas storage tank, further conditions are met for use in municipal waste water treatment plants.

Standard Ball Cages Type LBK The belt cage is segmented in the required length and supplied ready for installation with balls. The number of segments depends on the bearing diameter and the ball size. The band cage can also be purchased in one piece for special applications. Special Cages Special cages in the form of ribbon or comb cages are available for special requirements with regard to environmental influences or the installation space. Special solutions such as complete corrosion protection or radiation resistance are also possible. Franke also offers cages made from materials such as plastic, stainless steel, brass and Teflon.

The self supporting, lightweight diaphragm construction made of stainless steel – with high mechanical strength and resistance to ageing – enables tanks with diameters of up to 50 m to be spanned. The stainless steel not only provides support but also seals off the tank and can withstand snow loads and high winds. The Lipp stainless steel diaphragm cover is corrosion resistant, gas and vapour diffusion tight and provides reliable protection against UV radiation and mechanical damage. The lightweight design of the diaphragm makes it ideal for covering volatile and explosive substances and prevents components from flying around in the event of an explosion. Prefabrication of the diaphragm at the factory eliminates the need for welding work to be carried out at the construction site.
