Cape Tea Co is an organic South African tea company based in Cape Town. We supply both organic and conventional honeybush in bulk (50 tonnes per year), We also own two final labelled tea brands – Mandela Tea and Southern Cape Tea – our tea is 100% South African & 100% organic (certified EOS & NOP with Ecocert) Honeybush is indigenous to the Southern Cape of South Africa and is part of the fynbos biome. Naturally sweet, honey-like taste, low in tannins, rich in antioxidants and free of caffeine - honeybush is perfect for all ages with no reported side effects since its first recorded use in 1705. Cape Tea Co’s honeybush is free from pesticides, chemical fertilisers, additives, preservatives, other agrochemicals and is certified organic by Ecocert. Mandela Teas contain teas that are indigenous to South Africa: the much-loved honeybush, rooibos, and buchu. Mandela Teas also contain an abundance of minerals essential to good health and well-being. Ranging from iron, potassium and calcium to magnesium and manganese, these minerals help prevent anaemia, correct fluid balance abnormalities, and encourage healthy bones. A portion of the proceeds benefit the Mandela Day School Library Project - an initiative of the Nelson Mandela Foundation. It works with under-resourced schools to establish and maintain container libraries in order to boost literacy, and has delivered more than 100 such libraries since 2011.
