CMI is the executive body of the state administration in the area of certification, calibration, validation and metrology in the Czech Republic. Czech Metrology Institute ensures consistency and accuracy of measuring instruments and measurements in all fields of scientific, technical and economic activities in the range according to § 14 of Act no. 505/1990 Coll. on metrology, as amended. The Institute carries out metrological research and maintains national standards, ensures the transfer of values of units of measurement to the gauges with lower precision, performs certification of reference materials, performs state metrological control of measuring instruments and many other activities.
