We are dedicated to growing high quality grafted vines, a specialized grapevine - growing cooperative Trsnica Vrhpolje was founded in 1994 and today consists of 50 members. Independent, but closely cooperating with Trsnica, Selekcijsko trsničarsko središče Vrhpolje grows virus-free clonal planting material. It has been in this field of work since its foundation in 1991. Selekcijsko trsničarsko središče Vrhpolje is a name for successful cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture and Trsnica which has already borne fruit –a collectional vineyard was planted with fifty-two different grape varieties in Lože, next to Vipava. During the grafted vine production, most attention is given to rootstock and scion material. They have to be first-class. In order to achieve that, we carefully select them by mass selection as the basis of clonal selection from vineyards all over Vipavska Valley, Goriška Brda, Carst and Koper in the span of five years. This is how we ensure best genetic material for our grafted vines which is later seen in good vine growth and high quality yield. Besides high quality vine grafts , we have to mention rootstocks, especially good quality American rootstocks. That is why our nurserymen planted virus-free clones, the production of which has been based upon a million rootstocks well adjusted to our soil types and climate conditions.

We track and check the grapes carefully at every stage of wine production. The grape plants are cut by hand. Our terrain borders famous regions like Brunello or Quanti. Our company is very proud of our team. Our experienced oenologists develop a custom technological map for each wine brand. Furthermore, we check the quality of the wine at every fermentation stage via laboratory tests, which enable a professional assessment of the wine quality. The grapes are harvested by hand in small 12 kg crates. As early as this stage, unripe/rotten grapes can be removed, then the collected grapes are immediately sent to the cantina, so that they have no time to wither or spoil. This increases the quality of our wine. Our two cantinas are fitted with the latest equipment from the leading companies of the Defranceschi wine industry. The wine cellar BARRIQUES are equipped with new SAYRI barrels made of French oak. The winery is named for the twin brothers who own the winery. Twins Wine Cellar welcomes large groups and provides many activities for visitors.In 1994, Gia and Gela opened the first modern Georgian winery to bottle a qvevri wine. Twins Wine Cellar in Napareuli opened in a previously built winery. The winery has many qvevris, handmade clay pots inserted in the ground where wines are fermented and aged. A large room has 48 qvevris while another room has 15 qvevris of various sizes. Altogether the winery has 107 qvevris.Twins Cellar has 20 hectares of vineyard with a concentration of Rkatsiteli. They also purchase grapes. Current production is 300, 000 bottles plus some bulk wines. Most of the vineyards are located a few kilometers from the winery but the winery also has a Saperavi vineyard onsite.Special techniques are used when making the qvevri wines including cleaning the qvevri with a white cherry bark brush attached to a pole and burning sulfur inside the qvevri prior to placing grapes in the qvevri. The wine labels for Twins Wine Cellar note, “God gave us the wines and its tradition. We have to care about the wine and the vineyards because wine is alive. When we open the qvevri it is like the sun rising.”Qveris Mze is made in qvevri. The wine is made from Rkatsiteli grapes. The wine was a gold color and fermented in qvevri for two to three weeks. Post fermentation maturation was for 10 days. The qvevris are closed for 6 or 7 months and usually in March the wine is pumped
