Special applications have special requirements for connectors. For this field of application, CONEC developed water-tight D-SUB connectors with rating IP67. Owing to special sealing measures at the connector and the sealing frame, the high requirements are met. These connectors are used where dust and spray water occur and functioning of usual connectors would be negatively affected. These connectors are available as standard or high density in the usual pole number.

Data communication is also required in outdoor applications. Whether in traffic engineering, in maritime environments or mobile phone applications, long transmission distances and impacts such as heat, rain, snow, salty mist and dust place high demands on all connectors. The IP67 connectors developed by CONEC provide reliable protection against environmental influences and mechanical stress. The broad portfolio includes RJ45, USB/Mini USB and Fibre Optic LC Duplex connectors in plastic, metalized plastic or full metal.

Connector systems able to meet special demands are needed for industrial use in harsh environments. The water resistant connector system developed by CONEC is intended for applications where dust and water are factors. Corresponding accessories, such as water resistant hoods and protective caps are available. CONEC Solid Body and CONEC SlimCon D-SUB connector series were a consequent development to establish a D-SUB connector familiy which is especially designed for application in harsh industrial environment. The one piece body - made of zinc diecast - provides outstanding mechanical robustness and protection against splash water and dust under aggressive conditions.

Connectors for use in agricultural, construction or municipal technology are often exposed to extreme loads. The overmoulded versions of the AT, ATM, DT, connector series developed by CONEC fulfil at least protection class IP67 (DT connectors even IP67/IP69K). CONEC connectors for use in agricultural, construction and municipal technology therefore guarantee trouble-free operation even in the most difficult applications, such as underground, at sub-zero temperatures or in dusty, hot environments.

With increasing demands on the efficiency in agriculture, precision farming is becoming more and more important. Precision farming stands for the targeted management of utilized agricultural land, e.g. the individual application of fertilizers and plant protection products depending on the position of the utilized land. To ensure the necessary communication between tractor, equipment and agricultural management software, the non-proprietary ISOBUS is used. ISOBUS is specified in standard ISO 11783-2 and describes the BUS including the connectors used with it. To extend the CONEC product range in the field of connection solutions for agricultural and construction machinery, the connectors for ISOBUS are included in the ready-made and overmoulded design. The overmoulded ISOBUS-series is available as male and female version. The contact carrier has the 9-pin contact image required by the standard.

The IP67 D-SUB SlimCon series are supplements to the IP67 D-SUB connector family. The CONEC SlimCon series has a very compact design of IP67 sealed D-SUB connectors with a one-piece zinc die-cast shell. The panel cut-out for the CONEC SlimCon series corresponds to the standard of other D-SUB connectors and thus no new cut-outs are required and refitting from standard IP20 systems to the new IP67 system of the CONEC SlimCon series is possible. The one-piece zinc die-cast shell makes the new CONEC SlimCon D-SUB connector a mechanically extremely robust interface with reliable IP67 protection – similar to the CONEC Solid Body series. However, due to its design, a reduction of the occupied space from 48% to 52 % compared to a standard IP67 protected connector can be achieved. Owing to its compact design and the one-piece zinc die-cast shell, the CONEC SlimCon series is ideal for industrial and harsh environments.

CONEC Combination D-SUB Connectors with IP67-rating are suitable for use in environments where increased protection against moisture and contamination is necessary. All IP67 protected Combination D-SUB Connectors are supplied already populated with signal, high voltage, high power or coaxial contacts. This is necessary to provide factory assurance that the connector is properly sealed thus ensuring its reliable protection in harsh environments. The type of protection is defined by IEC 60529 which also specifies the suitability of electrical components for various ambient conditions. The firm flexible tube or plastic pipe is pushed onto the integrated connecting sleeve of the 1C connector. The sealing ring forms a tightness for the connection, while it is secured in place by a cutting ring. Due to the knurled nut, this also affects the flexible tube. The cutting ring wedges into the flexible tube or pipe as far as the knurled nut is screwed onto the connector body. A shear force is applied here that intensifies the contact pressure. This creates a friction-locked and tight connection that can be released at any time and minimises the dead volume.
