Thermal Transfer Ribbon is basically a polyester film on which are coated different layers. Ink layer is transferred to the label thanks to the heat delivered by the thermal head of the thermal printer. Printing with Thermal Transfer Ribbons is a proven technique to deliver durable variable codes, such as barcodes, that always read or scan. It produces dense, high-resolution images in colour or black-and-white. Additionally, it can be used on a wide variety of substrates. CODE MARKER FPHP 280- Recommended for medium-high productions. Thermal marker hot ink ribbon, ideal for marking labels and cartons. Operation: The operator must enter the letters in the type holder, turn on the marker and set the temperature suitable for the operation. The variation of working temperature depends on thickness and typology of product to be marked. The marking can be done when the marker has reached the temperature. Marking with FPHP 280 marker: The operator must enter the letters in the type holder. Pressing the electric pedal, the marker makes marking quickly (in about 2 seconds). It's a recommended marker to print expiration dates or lots. It's an electric model, then the printing quality is very good and does not vary from time to time because the descent of the characters happens in a vertical manner and the pressure is always constant. The head with the letters transfers ink from the ink ribbon to the product creating a permanent and lightly engraved marking.

The WPC is an integrated solution to produce wires for switch cabinets: it marks them and crimps the corresponding wire end ferrule. The WPC loads an EPLAN or other CAE file and produces all wires within this list step by step. Cross-sections from 0.5 mm² to 2.5 mm² are supported. For each item in this list, the wire is cut to length sequentially with the help of the multi feeder Z+F EVOFEED® , the corresponding labels are printed and the correct ferrule is crimped to the wire with the UNIC-GV universal crimping machine. The thermal transfer printer (THM-MMP) is suitable for all markers and labels of the MultiMark family as well as for continuous material, fabric and polyester labels, heat shrink tubing or PLC labels. The operation of the individual steps is carried out manually, which allows the operator to route and connect the wires for the complete job in the switch cabinet wire by wire. Due to the high level of automation it is not necessary to change wires and ferrules.

To serialize vials and other cylindrical products, we rely on the proven quality and reliability of our labelers. In order to achieve the best possible grading of the serialisation barcodes, we integrate thermal transfer printer or marking laser units directly on the label applicator. The vision system immediately inspects the print data after the printing process. If the inspection shows a negative result, we optionally offer a label reject station which automatically removes the label from the process and therefore does not waste a „good product“. Both the vision system and the print engine are fully integrated in the touch panel HMI. Shift registers in the label applicator as well as in the complete system enable product and label tracking through the complete system.

The PDL model series for labeling Petri dishes from our special machine construction provides filled and sealed Petri dishes with a serialized DMC label in the minimum tolerance range at an output of 130 products/min. The system combines mechanical engineering, label material and thermal transfer printer. The Petri dishes from the previous filling/capping line are fed to the labeling system. By means of a clock star, the system transports the products through the various stations, such as labeling, the press-on unit and DMC inspection, where the grading (quality control) of the data matrix code takes place at the same time. In case of insufficient quality of the barcode, the product is ejected. By using our label dispenser RAPID SM we guarantee an accuracy of +-0.2 mm at a labeling speed of 60 m/min while maintaining the product quality. The signals are switched directly into the stepper motor card developed by us.

The workstation enables the manual serialisation of pharmaceutical packs and their aggregation into shipping cartons. For this purpose, each individual box is first printed with order-related serialisation data by a thermal inkjet printing system and then manually placed in a shipping carton. As soon as this is filled, the downstream thermal transfer printer creates an individual serialisation label. The correct print data and print quality are monitored by a camera system. The operator places the drug packs to be labelled at a reference edge of the conveyor belt. As soon as the printer has printed the serialisation data, it is checked for correctness by the integrated image processing system. In case of an error, the product stops at a certain position, which is marked by red LEDs. Depending on the number of products in the shipping carton/number of aggregation levels, approx. 10-12 products/min are serialised.

This workstation enables the manual serialisation of drug packages and their aggregation into shipping cases. For this purpose, each individual box is first printed with order-related serialisation data by a thermal inkjet printing system as it passes by and then manually placed in a shipping carton. As soon as it is filled, the downstream thermal transfer label printer creates an individual serialisation label. The correct print data and print quality are permanently monitored by a vision system. The operator places the medicine products to be serialized on a reference edge at the infeed. As soon as the thermal inkjet printer has printed the serialisation data, the integrated vision system checks that the data is correct. If an error is detected (e.g. insufficient grading), the product stops at a certain position marked by red LEDs. The removal of the rejected product must be confirmed by pressing a button on the HMI.

The specially developed production line can unwind, label, roughen, cut to length, strip, wind, bind and automatically deposit the cable wires. The material to be processed is unwound by a motorised unwinder and fed to a thermal transfer printer via a straightener. The latter prints the cable with two QR codes and a serial number. This ensures that each cable can be identified throughout the entire processing and manufacturing process and assigned to the stations which have already passed through. This traceability offers great advantages – for example in the diagnosis of faults. The cable then passes through a roughening station, which lightly roughens the material surface so that the connector overmoulding adheres better later on. An AM 3550 from Metzner Maschinenbau cuts to length and strips the cable, which is then transported to the winding station and onwards by a gripper to the binding machine. The latter winds the cable to form a cable ring.
